It's me again God,

The peacefulness of this new morning reminds me of the peace I have in You! Thank You for this day when I can draw closer to You, open Your Word and rejoice in the truths I read.  As I continue to read Romans 8, I find Paul looking at motivation:

"Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities."
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:5‬ ‭TPT‬‬

It's easy to get overly involved with things that make me feel good but I have a higher calling, a greater motivation —to live by the impulses of  Your Holy Spirit and seek what You want for my life!

"For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace."
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Thank You that Your Spirit has brought me life and peace both now and forevermore!

"In fact, the mind-set focused on the flesh fights God's plan and refuses to submit to his direction, because it cannot! For no matter how hard they try, God finds no pleasure with those who are controlled by the flesh. But when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life, you are not dominated by the flesh but by the Spirit. And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of him."
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:7-9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Lord I am joined to Your Spirit and choose to submit to Your direction for my life. Today I ask that Your Spirit dominate all my thoughts, words and actions.

"Now Christ lives his life in you! And even though your body may be dead because of the effects of sin, his life-giving Spirit imparts life to you because you are fully accepted by God. Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God's Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!"
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:10-11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

This is such good news! Jesus I thank You for bringing me life and for making me fully acceptable!

"So then, beloved ones, the flesh has no claims on us at all, and we have no further obligation to live in obedience to it. For when you live controlled by the flesh, you are about to die. But if the life of the Spirit puts to death the corrupt ways of the flesh, we then taste his abundant life."
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:12-13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Lord this is so good and I particularly like the way the Message translation puts it: "So don't you see that we don't owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent. There's nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God's Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go!"
‭‭
Spirit guide me as I get on with my new life —guide me to the places I need to go and the people I need to speak to today. May my words and actions reflect the life and peace You have given me.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
