It's me again God,

When temperatures are reaching close to 40 degrees Celsius, it definitely causes a deep thirst! After a month of very hot weather, I feel I really know what thirst is but I am blessed that my home is connected to a town water supply that has never run dry all my life! Sure there have been water restrictions over the years where we are told not to water our gardens at certain times of the day or not to wash our cars with a hose etc but I have always been able to turn on the tap and get plenty of water for drinking and washing.

Your Word speaks of another kind of water —living water that is even better than the concept of town water which quenches my thirst!

"On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified."
‭‭John‬ ‭7:37-39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Rivers of living water that are always flowing within, sound like an ideal situation —a bit like being constantly connected to the town water supply but instead of a trickle coming from a tap, there is the image of a river flowing within! Lord Your supply is always reliable and with me wherever I go! Thank You that when I first believed in You, I was immediately connected to Your supply that will not ever run dry!

Thank You for this beautiful illustration of Your Spirit in us Lord. I am so blessed to be connected and receive that wonderful flow which brings me life and continually quenches my thirst.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
