It's me again God,
The truth of Your Word was singing out in my mind as I woke his morning. I am so grateful to You for giving us the ability to sing and for the power of a melody to help me meditate on Your Word. Again and again, You put a song in my mind to speak to me and today it is this one from Elevation Worship*:
I will call upon the Lord
For He alone is strong enough to save
Rise, your shackles are no more
For Jesus Christ has broken every chain
Thank You for the truth in just the first part of the chorus:
"And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"
Acts 2:21 NIV
Thank You that salvation is found in Your Name, Jesus! I am not bound by the chains of sin in my life because You died on the cross!
Jesus's name will break every stronghold
Freedom is ours when we call His name
Jesus's name above every other
All hail the power of Jesus's name (Bridge)
Thank You that these lines of the song remind me that I am no longer a slave to sin:
"For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin."
Romans 6:6-7 NIV
I love the way the Passion Translation puts it:
"Could it be any clearer that our former identity is now and forever deprived of its power? For we were co-crucified with him to dismantle the stronghold of sin within us, so that we would not continue to live one moment longer submitted to sin's power. Obviously, a dead person is incapable of sinning."
Romans 6:6-7 TPT
Thank You that in Jesus, I can live in freedom and come to You any time:
"In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence."
Ephesians 3:12 NIV
Jesus, You said Yourself:
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
John 8:36 NIV
How blessed I am to walk in freedom every single day!
Jesus, Your Name is the Name above every other name:
"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:9-11 NIV
Today I will remember to call on Your powerful Name in no matter what situation I find myself, knowing I am free and having great confidence that You will be there to hear me and save me!
We need no other hiding place
Our hope is safe within Your name
This we know, this we know
You promised never to forsake
What You began You will sustain....
