It's me again God,

It is so good to be alone with You again Jesus and just to be able to meditate on Your Word in the stillness of the morning. Life gets so busy that it's often hard to find moments that are truly quiet. I imagine it would have been hard for You and Your disciples with si many people eager to be healed so it would have been great when You finally were able to escape to a quiet place with Your disciples. As You took Peter, James and John up a mountain one day, they were in for a great surprise!

"After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!" Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what "rising from the dead" meant. And they asked him, "Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?" Jesus replied, "To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected? But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.""
‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:2-13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What an incredible meeting this was! As I read this familiar passage, I couldn't help noticing the words of Your Father, "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!" What a confirmation this was! At many times, the disciples must have wondered if You really were God's Son, the long awaited Saviour but now they surely had all the evidence they needed! They also had a direct instruction from God the Father to listen.

I sense that You are calling me to listen to You too Jesus. What do You want to say to me right now? In the stillness of this new day, I wait for You to speak and I trust You to lead me so I can bring glory to You! Thank You for Your constant patience and love. Please bless me today as I go out into the community—help me to listen to Your prompting as I interact with others, so my words and actions would show Your love and bring people into the Kingdom.

In Your Name,
Amen.
