24. My Choice

It's me again God,

How I love just waking and knowing that You are here with me and nothing that will happen today is a surprise to You!

"....all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Today I have a choice and that involves whether I will do this day Your way or my own! That's my choice every day:

""For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Your ways are higher than my ways so please show me Your way!

"Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes life seems like a journey through the wilderness but I'm so glad that You know the way through! All I need to do is follow:

"Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Walking in the way of love is surely the way I need to go today! Thank You Jesus for sacrificially giving Yourself up for me! You set the example of love in everything You did while You lived on the earth and You gave a new command which was right on the topic:

""A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.""
‭‭John‬ ‭13:34-35‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You are the author of love so I come to You and ask that You fill me with Your Spirit so that I can love others in the same way You love them! I definitely can't do this on my own. There are people I could love in my own strength —they are easy to love but You call me to love everyone!

I will meditate on this today and perhaps look to Your Word tomorrow for further guidance as this is right at the heart of how I need to live in order that others will see You in me. Your way is all about love and I want to be like You, so I ask that today with Your Spirit's leading I may:

"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is my prayer and I ask it in Jesus' Name,
