It's me again God,

I love the song, 'Do it Again', where the bridge repeats the words 'I've seen you move, you move the mountains and I know I'll see you do it again'. It's a wonderful song about Your faithfulness to us and a reminder to expect to see You at work in our lives in wonderful ways. There are so many signs that You are still active today! In today's reading from Mark, it's special to see Jesus moving and doing a miracle again when there was a need to be met:

"During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance." His disciples answered, "But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?" "How many loaves do you have?" Jesus asked. "Seven," they replied. He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people, and they did so. They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them. The people ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. About four thousand were present. After he had sent them away, he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha. The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven. He sighed deeply and said, "Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it." Then he left them, got back into the boat and crossed to the other side."
‭‭Mark‬ ‭8:1-13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The crowds' devotion to listening to Jesus for three days without eating, is quite remarkable and so too is Jesus' compassion even though He must have been very tired himself but He carries on to the next place. Lord I am so thankful that I have Jesus to look to at all times as my example. I pray that I would also work diligently, doing the work You have prepared for me to do. I don't know that I would be up to catering for 4,000 people in a day but in Jesus' Name, I know anything is possible!

It's interesting that after performing this miracle for those who needed it and just longed to be with Jesus, He is confronted by another group of people, this time demanding a sign. They were very sceptical about Your Son and took any opportunity they could to test Him. They would not accept Him as the long awaited for Messiah —they needed a sign! The Pharisees faith was lacking and Jesus knew the true intent of their hearts so He didn't waste time there!

Reading this passage today has reminded me that I don't need a sign to believe in You but I'm thankful that You speak and provide signs that You are still at work. Thank You that You speak to me through Your Word, through creation and through other Christians. Your Word speaks of visions, pictures and dreams too so there are plenty of ways You communicate but ultimately You have already impacted my life so much since I believed and received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour! You have given me Your Holy Spirit so I am never alone —I am so blessed!

I bring before You now those who I know are yet to believe and are possibly searching for signs like the Pharisees.................................................................................May the eyes of their hearts be enlightened in order that they may know the hope to which Jesus has called them to.  May they know the riches of His glorious inheritance and His incomparably great power for all who believe.  (Ephesians‬ ‭1:18-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬).

In His Name,
Amen.
