It's me again God,

I'm so excited to wake knowing that You are with me and You live inside of me! It must have been exciting for Your disciples to be with You day after day and to get to know You and in today's reading from Mark, it seems they had so much more to learn!

"That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!""
‭‭Mark‬ ‭4:35-41‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I had never noticed before that there were other boats out on the lake when the storm came up. I imagine that the occupants would have been afraid too! The picture I see here reminds me of the way that Your presence in the lives of believers, greatly impacts those around us too. We don't know whether the occupants of the other boats realised that Jesus had controlled the wind and the waves but they must have been very relieved when the lake suddenly became calm. It may have been some time later that they heard the story of who was behind the miracle!

Another thing that always touches me when I read this story is the reminder we have that You are always with us in every situation. I remember reading this story and being critical of the way that the disciples had Jesus right there with them in the boat and yet they still panicked! I see this very thing in my own life from time to time. I can be in a difficult situation and forget that You are always with me —nothing is too difficult for You! All I have to do is ask for help!

There is no need for me to be afraid at any time because You are always with me. I am so blessed to have this reassurance! Thank You that I can live with confidence and reassurance that You take care of all the details of my life! Each day that I read Your Word, I am learning more about You! Even when it looks like You are not doing anything to change a situation I am encountering, I can be assured that You definitely have everything in hand and You care more than I can possibly imagine!

Hallelujah!
Amen.
