It's Me Again God 2

85. Total Restoration

It's me again God,

Father, it's so wonderful to have insight into how Jesus interacted with people while He was here on earth. It's not surprising that people recognised pretty quickly that He had power to heal and that made You intensely popular!

"On one occasion, a leper came and threw himself down in front of Jesus, pleading for his healing, saying, "You have the power to heal me right now if only you really want to!" Being deeply moved with tender compassion, Jesus reached out and touched the skin of the leper and told him, "Of course I want you to be healed—so now, be cleansed!""

Jesus, it's so special how we see Your tender compassion as You touched the leprous man when no one else would!  You extended love to this poor man who although demanding to be healed and knowing You had the power to, perhaps wondered if You would want to heal him. So many had rejected him before that this act of love must have been overwhelming!

"Instantly his leprous sores completely disappeared and his skin became smooth! Jesus sent him away with a very stern warning, saying, "Don't say anything to anyone about what just happened, but go find a priest and show him that you've been healed. Then bring the offering that Moses commanded for your cleansing as a living testimony to everyone.""

I love the way Mark notes that the man's skin became smooth. The healing was complete and he was back to his original condition! Lord You don't do things by half measures —Your healing is always complete restoration! Hallelujah!

Jesus I can imagine that things must have become really crazy with all the crowds of people wanting healing so I understand why You asked the healed man to keep this to himself.  All that was necessary was to tell the priest and present the offering as that would be a living testimony to all.

"But no sooner did the man leave than he began to proclaim his healing publicly and spread the story everywhere of his healing. Jesus' growing fame prevented him from entering the villages openly, which forced him to remain in isolated places. Even so, a steady stream of people flocked to him from everywhere."

It would be hard to keep something like this to yourself! In spreading the news of his healing, it altered Your place if ministry as You needed to go to remote villages where they hadn't heard the news yet. This didn't stop people coming to You —nothing can stop that!

Lord it is so great to know that there are no restrictions on spreading the Word now! In fact, You told Your disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel and that is what I will do too! I'll be sure to tell others how You have healed me!
