81. Serum Soliders

I couldn't explain how we obtained an abandoned warehouse to place Bucky but someone did. We're being tracked, Steve keeps watch while Sam watches Bucky. I decide to lock any door as well as windows to enter from in order to prevent enemies coming in uninvited.

"Hey, Cap!" Sam calls and Steve and I jog back to where we left Bucky. His arm in between equipment for precaution and he's awake.

"Steve." Bucky says as we stare at the captured Solider.

"Which Bucky am I talking to?" Steve puts straightly.

"Your mom's name was Sarah." Bucky looks down to remember, "You used to wear newspapers in your shoes."

I held back a laugh but a snort escapes, "Newspapers?"

Steve rolls his eyes and relaxes, "Can't read that in a museum."

"Just like that, we're suppose to be cool?" A sense of disbelief trails in Sams voice as he crosses his arms.

"Mind control is just like that." I reply.

"What did I do?" Bucky says alarmed.

Steve responds, "Enough."

"Oh, God, I knew this would happen. Everything Hydra put inside me is still there. All he had to do was say the goddamn words." Bucky's eyes sorrow and I bite my lip.

"If it makes you feel better some of us also have a difficulty with those... words." I look down releasing my bitten lip.

"You too?" Bucky catches my eye and I nod.

"Amara found me." I difficultly inform, "Was the guy talking to you like her?"

"No, he wasn't Hydra that I remembered." Bucky promised.

"Who was he?" Steve focuses again.

Bucky would shrug if he could, "I don't know."

"People are dead. The bombing, the setup. The doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than "I don't know."" Steve raises an eyebrow.

"He wanted to know about Siberia. Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where." Bucky tried to recall.

"Why would he need to know that?" Steve questioned strongly.

"Because I'm not the only Winter Soldier." Bucky looked at me deeply after realizing.

"He wants to find me?" I dare to ask but Bucky shakes his head.

"More people like you." Bucky's pupils get small, "Like us that Hydra used to test as weapons."

Steve gets heated, "Who were they?"

"Unlike me and Isabelle who were chosen particularly these people came together as a larger test. Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in Hydra history. And that was before the serum." Bucky warned.

"They all turn out like you?" Sam questioned.

"Worse." Bucky empathized.

"Did we fight them. Those people?" I recalled.

"I did but were our very last subject so you were lucky enough not to meet them other than a little fighting practice." Bucky replies, "You were above us all, couldn't compare to you or your powers combined."

"The doctor, could he control them?" Steve pressed.

"Enough." Bucky told.

"Said he wanted to see an empire fall." Steve tried.

"With these guys he could do it. They speak 30 languages, can hide in plain sight, infiltrate, assassinate, destabilize, They can take a whole country down in one night. You'd never see them coming." Bucky informed making my gut twist.

Sam pulls Steve to the side and I approach Bucky fearfully, "These guys... how are they stronger?"

"Their minds with the serum would be deadly measured to us. They are more aggressive by default due to the serum." Bucky looks at me empathetically, "That's all I know."

"And you know where these people are?" I test and he nods quickly in reply, "What if we don't get there in time to stop them?"

"They'd do his bidding and if they didn't get fully controlled they'd rule havoc on all living things." His features tensed as Steve and Sam looked back at us.

"We're gonna need some help, prepare to head out immediately." Steve told as he approached us, grasping the thing holding Bucky in and pulling it away from his arm like it was nothing.

"Anything else to add ex-Hydra followers?" Sam requested eagerly.

I looked between Bucky, Sam and Steve nervously, then gulped my joke, "I'm just pissed I didn't learn 30 languages."
