Author's note: Hi everyone before this book starts I just want to let you all know that this book is about becoming an idol. Now personally I've never had an experience as a trainee (maybe in the future) but becoming an idol isn't easy. Looking at survival shows, it really messes with your head so I added some trigger warnings to this book. This is just some struggles in being an idol, I will never know how hard it'll be until I actually train someday (probably not lol) SO PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND!!! -Amy

The Assembly

"Alright, everyone!" I clasped my hands together to catch the attention of many girls and boys in the auditorium. "The assembly is tomorrow and we need to finalize the dance, you guys got this! I told you before I don't like being strict or mean at all, I don't mean to pressure you guys however you guys aren't working as hard you used to."

I looked at the students stretching in front of me with tired expressions on their faces. Suddenly a hand went up to which I nodded my head so they can speak.

"Alaska, we've practiced since the beginning of this month." My friend Bella whined. "I think we're okay."

"Bella, we don't have to be just okay. We have to know and be better than okay. Trainees don't just practice for a month and then debut like they're a god or something." I explained. "I saw you guys practice and I see the development however some people aren't trying their hardest."

"Ahh, Alaska just let us rest!" Another girl whined. "We're tired and we've only started to stretch again!"

"You guys joined this club because this was a k-pop club," I said sternly. "I warned you guys that this wasn't going to be easy, we are competing against the dance team of the school. If we lose then you can say goodbye to this club."

"Alaska's right." Bella stood beside me. "We have to remember that the dance team is against us and doesn't support k-pop at all, we made this to create an environment of safety and passion. We want to prove them wrong, k-pop is a music genre and should be taken seriously."

The students nodded their heads and began to practice their routine again.
I began to go from the top along with the others and inspected everything, we were dancing to 3 songs and it was all one performance meaning after the first song we would have to start dancing to the next with no break. We had to beat the dance team, I think I helped them train enough. I am the leader of the club and we only had 15 students sign up.

"Sam, when Bella does the first line you're supposed to automatically do your pose behind her." I stopped the music. "Don't do a delay."

Sam nodded in agreement with what I stated so I played the music again. We were covering fake love by BTS for the first song because I really liked the concept of it especially since Halloween was around the corner so it gave off a dark vibe.

The order was Fake love, Lion, and then Miroh. Miroh was a really upbeat song and it would get everyone hyped up at the end so I was happy about that. However, some girls couldn't get the timing right and you absolutely hated to criticize their dancing but it had to be done. They were weak, they look as if dancing wasn't their passion, I mean who am I kidding I've been making them nonstop practice for this.

"Alright guys, practice is over." I gave up. "I'm tired of this, tomorrow at the assembly if you want to try then try."

Everyone stopped and looked at me with a shocked face. Bella walked towards me with the same expression. "Alaska, what are you saying?"

"A lot of you guys come here and do the same mistakes, I've already corrected you guys yet you decide not to listen. I'm done." I sighed and take my hair out of the ponytail.

I don't know why I felt my hope drop all at once but at that moment I felt so infuriated. I get it, we're not idols nor will we ever be but I want to perfect everything and try to achieve what an idol can do. It'll look better for us as well, the dance team did struggle with actual dancing. For starters, they weren't in sync and they over danced a lot... It was really wild and their choreography technique was really not well. I have been dancing for 7 years and I could tell the mistakes they made, it's the reason why I don't want that for my group.

On the day of the assembly, I was really nervous and tired, but I had to suck it up. I love dancing, not a lot of people know that because I never bothered to announce it. I value it so much but others don't and I understand it. This assembly meant so much to me, it was the first time I would perform in front of a huge crowd.

"Coming up, we have the school's dance team that is primarily based on k-pop! We have ABO!" The teacher spoke into the microphone. "We must remember that we are scoring them on how good they are, if they get a low score then the team will separate."

I got on stage with my team and the music started, I had some students play as dance break dancers to make it look better. I hope it turns out okay at least, we needed to impress the judges who were 5 teachers. We got into position and the music started, I felt the rush of adrenaline through my body. I think we can do this.

Felix's POV

"We heard that there is this club that covers k-pop dances, we need to scout more girls to become trainees," JYP said motioning for me to sit next to him.

I was slightly scared considering the fact that we were in a room full of thousands of high school students and I was somewhat known as an idol now. I had a mask on while JYP roamed free, sucks to be me.

"And I'm here because?" I asked as I take a seat and look at the stage.

"If I find a girl that has potential I need someone youthful to help me get her in if she says no." He looked at me. "We are running out of time, the reality show is going to start in a week!"

I nodded at the realization, I can't let him down. Even I don't fully support reality shows now, they put trainees through the most pain I could have ever seen.

That's when the performance finally started.
