As the bell went, (Y/n) was still sitting in the cubicle but she didn't really care. It was lunch anyway and she certainly didn't want to be in a room with any of her classmates in that moment.Luckily for her, after lunch she had all her classes without Gianni or Padgett.
Her laboured breaths had calmed down slightly as time had passed and she thought on what to do. She considered calling Ronan to get some advice, although upon second thought he probably wouldn't pick up the phone and would defend Padgett over (Y/n) without any hesitation.
Carmen was out of the question since she was working. (Y/n) thought about the last link she had... technically Felix would also be working but he was the boss- surely he could spare a minute or two for her. Whenever she saw him he seemed to be able to pass on anything he needed to do.
She dialled in his number from memory and waited for him to pick up patiently.
"What do you need?"
His voice was sterner than usual, to the extent where (Y/n) almost flinched away from her phone.
"I just need some advice... if you're too busy then that's fine." She spluttered.
There were a few moments of radio silence before Felix's harsh tone blared back into her eardrum.
"What happened? Do you need me to get rid of anyone?"
"What?! No! It's not that important, I'm just a little upset is all and I don't really know..." She trailed off.
"You don't know what?" He asked in hostility.
"I don't know what to do. I'm not very confrontational but I feel like I should say something."
"It's pretty fucking difficult for me to give you any advice if you don't tell me what happened." Felix said, even through the phone she could hear his gritted teeth. But he didn't seem angry at whoever had upset his daughter, he seemed angry at (Y/n) like she was wasting his time.
"We don't need to do this now if you're busy." Felix's clear annoyance made (Y/n) wildly uncomfortable and guilty, she would just have to wait.
"Would you just fucking spit out what happened already?" He groaned, not really clocking her last statement.
" It was just... it's not a big deal, these guys just said some mean stuff to me in gym because I'm... quiet? I don't know, I just feel a bit raw right now and-"
"Is that it?" His words cut in.
"...yes? It was so embarrassing, I was in front of everybody and no one even said anything." She said sadly.
"God, could you stop being so pathetic for one second?"
"Pathetic?"
"Just grow a pair and next time shit like this happens. Don't call me, just get the fuck over it."
Felix hung up the phone and (Y/n) lowered it from her ear. Even though he was her dad, she had to keep in mind that he was a ruthless mob boss. She couldn't expect him to break out of that role in front of his co workers.
Yeah, that had to have been it. He didn't really think she was pathetic and that her problems were far too trivial to concern himself with. He just couldn't break that tough exterior.
She hoped that was it anyway.
Because if it wasn't, what did that leave her with?
The only source of kindness in her life would be her mother and on occasion her brother. He literally would have wiped out a third of her 'friendship group' in one fell swoop.
