Special Chapter: Xanderlim Vex Caster

Xander's POV

I am known as the goody-two-shoes. Whether it be in school or in the house. Well, I'm not that really good just like how they described me, I'm just used in complying the rules.

Ayoko lang talagang madungisan ang iniingatang pangalan ng aming pamilya. I do not want to bring disappointment to our family.

"I want you to read this book and give me a summary tomorrow morning. I'd like to see if you have the ability to understand things well with your current intelligence," Dad said coldly, handing me a book entitled 'Business Ventures'.

Today marks my first month in training to become the perfect successor of our company. I always feel exhausted after going home. Paano ba naman ay pinagsasabay ko ang pag-aaral at ang pagte-training.

During weekdays, ginugugol ko ang oras sa pag-aaral, weekends naman ay sa kompanya. It costs a lot of energy, lalo pa't wala na akong oras para sa sarili.

Dad crossed his arms across his chest and stared at me, "Don't fool around just like you're sister, Xander. I have a big expectation from you. Don't dare disappoint me."

I heaved a deep sigh when he left. I feel suffocated every time I am facing him. Even if I'm his son, he shows this menacing aura to me as if I'm just a mere employee and not as his own blood.

Pinasadahan ko ng tingin ang binigay niya at sinimulan na itong basahin.

"Hey, bro!" bati ng aking kapatid nang maabutan niya akong nagbabasa sa sala. She just got home from I don't know where. Gumimik na naman siguro. "Mukhang busy ka ah, ano'ng pinagkakaabalahan mo?"

She sat to a single sofa across me. I did not bother lifting my gaze up just to look at her, I continued scribbling on my notes for my report tomorrow.

"Just noting down some important points," I simply said. "You?"

"Just finished a research with my partner. Nakakapagod nga eh," sabi niya at narinig ko pa ang walang poise niyang paghikab.

Nag-angat ako ng tingin sa sinabi niya, "'Yun ba talaga ang ginawa mo?"

Knowing my twin sister, baka kung saan na naman 'to nagpupupunta. She always does something that's against our father's will. She wants freedom from the grasps of our manipulative father, as what she had described him. She rebelled and has gain a violent response from Dad.

I also remembered what she said when we talked last time, it was during Christmas. She wanted to prove herself and make us proud in the future. She said that she will change for the better and make something out of her hardworks. Pero sa tingin ko ay hindi niya iyon gagawin. Ngayong college na kami ay hindi ko pa rin nakikita ang kanyang improvement.

She lifted a brow at me, "Oo, wala ka bang tiwala sa 'kin? I can show it to you if you don't believe—"

"EERAMAE VEN!"

Dumagundong ang malakas at galit na boses ni Dad na nakadungaw sa second floor. Dali-dali siyang bumaba kaya napatayo kaagad si Eera.

I can see that she's scared but she feigned a brave facade when Dad came into view.

"Dad—"

He welcomed her with a slap, hard enough that it left a red mark on her cheek. Narinig ko pa ang malakas na tunog nito kaya't alam ko na napakasakit no'n.

Napapikit nang mariin si Eera at napahawak sa pisngi. She gritted her teeth and refrained from talking. Ano na naman ba ang ginawa niya? Bakit galit na naman si Dad?
