The next couple of days pass without trouble. Legolas, Gimli, Aragorn and myself are packed and ready to leave at a moments notice. There's a knock on my door and Legolas walks in smiling slightly "Can I talk to you for a moment?" I nod "Of course." he shuts the door gently and walks over taking my hands in his gently "You know I care for your greatly, I do not wish to see you get hurt." I smile softly and he continues "Please promise me you will stay safe?"
I frown slightly closing my eyes"Legolas you know I can not promise that..." I'm cut of by something warm pressing against my lips. I blush realizing he is kissing me and he pulls away "Please I can not lose you." I place a hand on his cheek gently and smile up at him.
"There is a war coming I can not promise that I will not get hurt, but I promise that if we survive this I will stay out of danger for the rest of my life. No more fighting unless absolutely necessary." he nods slightly and kisses the palm of my hand "I won't be able to forgive myself if you get hurt." I smile "I will keep my promise as long as you also promise to stay safe as well."
He nods and smiles warmly "I love you Y/N." I blush slightly "I love you to." he leans down and kisses me again gently. I close my eyes slowly and wrap my arms around his neck. He wraps his around my waist and I smile into the kiss. My door bangs open and the two of us pull apart quickly. Gimli grins "Hate to break this up but Aragorn just ran into the hall yelling something about Gondor and beacons."
I notice that Legolas is blushing hard and I nod slightly "We're coming." Gimli grins and walks out the room chuckling to himself. I grab Legolas's hand and the two of us follow him to the main hall where Aragorn, Theoden and many others are all standing. Theoden smiles "And Rohan will answer. Muster the Rohirrim." Several people run out the room and a loud bell starts to toll. I squeeze Legolas's hand lightly before running back to my room and changing into my armor and securing my weapons.
I sling my bag onto my back next to my bow and quiver and scan the room for anything I could have forgotten. Not seeing anything I head to the stable to find the horse that I have been using. I find him at the back of the stables and smile stroking his nose. I start attaching his saddle and reigns watching as men in armor run around leading horses out of the stables.
