Willow

I walk into my room and smile looking around. It hasn't changed at all. My bags are on my bed so I un-pack them by magic and leave the crown, bracelet and daggers from the dwarves on my desk. I take Skylar from around my neck and place her gently on the bed. I make sure the necklace from Ailmar is secure around my neck and change into a simple blue tunic and trousers. The door opens and my maid Willow walks in beaming "You're back." I smile and hug her tightly "It's good to see you again." She smiles brightly "It feels like you've been gone for years." I smile "Just under one." she nods and glances at my desk "Those are new." I smile "They were gifts from a friend." she nods smiling "Not much has happened while you were gone. Daciana had the twins, Ailmar found a lovely elf and they are currently courting. Borders are quiet and no sign of Orcs."

I nod "Thats good to hear, I'm glad Ailmar is happy. I felt guilty when I told him I didn't feel the same way." she smiles "Did you see Legolas at all while you were away?" I blush slightly and nod "Yes, and he gave me this." I hand her the letter and she reads it through quickly her smile spreading "Aww, he totally likes you." I smile "You're the second person to say that." she laughs and Skylar sits up on her back legs Who is this? I smile This is my friend Willow "Willow this is Skylar my dragon." she smiles "Shes so cute. How old?" I smile "Six days." What is cute? I laugh slightly It is a compliment, a good thing.

Obviously satisfied with my answer she climbs up my arm and settles around my shoulders I'm hungry. I smile Well lets sort that out. I smile at Willow "Shes hungry. I'll see you later." she nods and I grab the water skin I've been using to feed her before walking down to the kitchens. I walk into the kitchen and the cook smiles kindly "Princess Y/N, welcome home. How can I help." I smile "Could you fill this with milk please." she nods and takes the water skin of me disappearing for a moment, she reappears and hands it back to me full "Thank you." she nods eyeing Skylar warily. I walk out into the gardens and sit on one of the benches Skylar crawls into my lap and I hand her the water skin which she holds carefully in her claws drinking the milk slowly. I refill it twice by magic before she drops the empty water skin and stretches. I'm bored. I smile What would you like to do?

She tilts her head thinking Learn. I smile Well we'll go to the library then. But you will have to be careful. She nods and lays back on my shoulders as I stand, I pick up the empty water skin and tie it to my belt. I start walking to the library and Lilly appears skipping around a corner "Aunty Y/N?" I smile "Yes?" she grins "Will you tell me a story now?" I smile "Of course, come on." she skips alongside me to the library. I put Skylar on the floor and hand her a large book on elvish using my magic to protect it from fire. I watch for a second as she tilts her head slightly scanning the page then turning it carefully with her claws and nose so that the page doesn't tear.

"What type of story would you like?" she smiles and sits opposite me in one of the large chairs "One with magic in it." I smile and tell her all about Gandalfs fireworks trying to craft it into an interesting story. A servant walks in a few hours later and announces that dinner is ready. Lilly jumps up and runs out of the room I smile and stand. I smile at Skylar and pick her up gently putting her on my shoulder I finished the book, may I have another? I smile Of course. I pick up a large one on the history of middle earth and walk out the room. Once we get to throne room I sit and put her on the seat next to me the book in front of her. She opens it with her snout and props her front feet up on the table. I smile and thank the elf who puts a plate of food in front of me.

I start eating and listen to Lilly telling Alex the same story I told her and smile. Aillard looks confused "Y/N why is your dragon reading?" I smile "She wanted to." he nods and I take another bite of food before my father speaks up "Y/N are you sure you told us everything that happened while you were gone?" I nod and he smiles "So you just forget to mention your visit to Mirkwood." I blush slightly and smile "Did I not tell you about that?" My mother looks confused "You said that letter was about supplies." he smiles "It was from Thrandruil explaining that our daughter was loyal to dwarves and escaped his dungeons." Aillard laughs and my mother smiles slightly before returning to eating. I finish and stand "I'm going to retire for the night." I pick up Skylar and her book and walk out of the room.
