It was date night for you and Steve. He came over with takeout and you watched a movie. It wasn't late when it ended, so you suggested painting nails. He smiled when you suggested it, chuckling when you asked him why he was smiling.
"I've just never had a girl want to paint my nails."
"Never?"
"Nope."
"Not even the little kids in your family?"
"Nope."
"Alright. Well, stay here."
You jumped up and went to fetch the polish. You decided on black because it was the only good quality polish you owned.
When you came back downstairs, Steve hadn't moved. You sat next to him on the couch and he turned to face you, putting his hands out for you to take. He was more eager than you thought he would be, which made you happy.
You shook the bottle before opening it. You painted them carefully but quickly, making sure they were even. When you dropped his left hand to grab his right one, he looked at his nails.
"Wow," he said.
"Do you like them?"
"I love them, actually."
"It's good to be in touch with your feminine side. It makes you hotter."
He looked at you. "Really?"
"Yep. I hate when guys refuse to do anything remotely feminine. It makes it seem like it's a bad thing."
He just nodded slowly. When you finished that coat, he looked at his nails. "Don't you have to do a second layer or something?"
"Nah, that polish is good with just one."
He smiled. "That was a good idea."
"Yeah?"
"Mm-hm."
He leaned over and kissed you before he pushed himself on top of you.
"Steve! You're gonna mess up the polish and get it on the couch!"
He chuckled and sat back down. "You know who I bet would love their nails painted?"
"Who?"
"Dustin."
"Really?"
"Mm-hm. He loves stuff like that."
"Wow. I didn't know that. You want me to invite him over?"
"Yeah, sure."
You got up and called Dustin, asking if he would want his nails painted. He practically jumped on the opportunity and came over straight away.
The rest of the night, you watched more movies and Dustin painted your nails as well. It was probably the most fun you'd had in a while.
