Mortal Kombat: Fire and Ice

Chapter 19

PAGE ONE

Panel 1: Queen Sindel opens her eyes and looks around. She gets up slowly and blinks. She is dressed in a blue shirt and pants and black socks. She touches her face, then gets out of the bed.  She looks in the mirror, an expression of disbelief on her face

Sindel: Am I dreaming or am I really alive?  What's going on here?  What is this place?

Panel 2: Sindel steps outside and looks around.  There are several other rooms with sliding doors, and the wall in front of her has a large Lin Kuei symbol. She looks at in confusion, before turning to the right, trying to look and see if anyone else is around. 

???: Mother?

Panel 3:  Kitana steps into frame. Sindel turns around, and the both of them stand there in stunned silence for a little bit, before she steps forward and places her hand on Kitana's cheek. Tears form in their eyes as they smile at each other and share a warm, loving hug. 

Sindel: By the gods Kitana it really is you!  Alive, and so beautiful! I can't believe I'm able to see you again

Kitana: I have wanted this for so long mother. Seeing you again is a dream come true! I had a feeling and came to check on you, and here you are. Awake, and alive

Sindel: Where am I Kitana? And how was I resurrected? 

Kitana: Come mother.  Let's sit down in the kitchen and we'll discuss everything

Sindel:  I am rather hungry and thirsty honestly

Kitana: I will make sure you eat and have a drink

Panel 4: Kitana and Sindel walk into the kitchen. Kitana makes sandwiches for them and pours drinks. She brings the plates and cups to the table and sits down. They take a few bites and turn to talk to each other

Sindel: This place is quite nice

Kitana: Indeed. We are at the Lin Kuei temple.

Sindel: Lin Kuei? Why does that sound so familiar?

Kitana: The Lin Kuei is the clan Sub-Zero comes from. He is their grandmaster

Sindel: Sub-Zero? The quiet man with the ice powers?  I remember him. I... I was responsible for his death... and your death too... I regret that so much

Kitana: Do not hold it against yourself mother. You were brainwashed. It was not your own doing. I do not blame  you for my death at all.

Sindel: Thank you Kitana. I am happy to hear that you do not hold it against me. Now... how am I alive again?

Kitana: Raiden came up with a spell to restore the Revenants back to their human forms. 

Sindel: Impressive. I am eternally grateful to him for that. Have you been able to speak with Jade? Or Liu Kang?

Kitana: I was able to speak with both of them. Seeing Jade was amazing.  As for Liu Kang, he still feels animosity toward Raiden, and he became angered that I chose to trust him. He also revealed that he did not wish to pursue anything with me

Sindel: Seriously? I had thought you two had established a connection

Kitana: I thought so too. But there's no use dwelling on it. Besides, I had already fallen for someone else before I spoke to him

Sindel: Is it Sub-Zero?

Kitana:  Yes

Sindel: What drew you to him?

Kitana: He is so handsome. And those blue eyes. So bright and full of knowledge.  I remember I had always viewed him as quiet and mysterious. There was an air of intrigue about him. I wanted to know more.   I remember when I first saw him, demanding something of Shao Kahn, which is an act most people wouldn't dare to do... and yet he did it, without any fear.  What's even crazier is that Shao Kahn didn't rip his head off and actually granted his request. Then as I got to know him,  I was attracted to his strong personality.
