Caption: Several years ago

Panel 1: We see a younger Sub-Zero and Smoke in the Lin Kuei throne room along with human Cyrax and Sektor. The Lin Kuei Grandmaster is seen talking with none other than Shang Tsung himself. Bi-Han is by the side of the Grandmaster

The Grandmaster: So tell us more about this... Mortal Kombat tournament of yours

Shang Tsung: It's a tournament to determine who will claim Earthrealm. Outworld holds nine consecutive victories over Earthrealm. We just need to win one more and Shao Kahn will be able to claim their realm. Of course, the Lin Kuei will be able to receive some of the spoils if you agree to partake in it on the side of Outworld

Bi-Han: We're turning against our own realm?

Cyrax: This is our home Grandmaster. Why would we turn against it?

Sektor: My father is doing this for the glory of the Lin Kuei! We'll be so much more! We'll move past the need for our current home

Sub-Zero: You're just going to blindly accept this?!

The Grandmaster: Silence! I'm not surprised my son shares my vision. Like his father he understands the need to move past our current state, to reject humanity

Smoke: I don't like this Kuai..

Sub-Zero: Me neither. I don't trust you Shang Tsung!

Shang Tsung: I'll have your soul boy!

The Grandmaster: Stand down Tundra!

Panel 2: Bi-Han puts his hand on his brothers shoulder and shakes his head. Sub-Zero sighs and relents

Shang Tsung: Learn to control your members

The Grandmaster: Don't worry, I'll make sure this does not happen again. We have a deal Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung: Very good

Panel 3: Shang Tsung shares an intense stare with Sub-Zero before smirking and leaving through a portal

Caption: Now

Smoke: I remember when you were going against your realm because you had no choice. Now you willingly attack it

Noob: I finally saw the truth on how pathetic this realm was. The Grandmaster was spineless as well. I would have killed Shang Tsung myself if I was him! Letting the decrepit old fool tell him what to do.

Smoke: You still followed his orders when you could have rebelled. This time you have a chance though

Panel 4: Noob pauses and seems to ponder. Smoke steps forward and reaches his hand out. Noob takes his sickle and attempts to slice Smoke, who teleports behind him and lands a German suplex on him. Smoke then lands another one on Noob. He does one more, except this time he releases it, sending Noob through the air and crashing to the ground. Noob turns into liquid and appears behind Smoke, who reacts in time to duck under a head kick and teleport away from him.

Panel 5: Smoke teleports in front of Noob and lands an uppercut. He teleports behind Noob and lands another German suplex before kicking him in the face.

Smoke: Stay down Bi-Han

Panel 6: Noob Saibot gets up, cracking his neck. Him and Smoke clash again, shadows and smoke going off at a furious pace. Smoke shoots for a takedown but gets stopped from a knee to the face from Noob. Noob uppercuts Smoke into a portal who then flies through one that's on the ground. Noob uppercuts him again and kicks him in the body, causing damage to his internal organs
