Chapter 27

PAGE ONE

Panel 1: Kitana stares in the mirror, looking a little nervous. Her hair is up in a bun, and she is wearing a blue sleeveless wedding dress, with blue heels.  The dress is bright blue in color,  with gold outlines.  The dress has a slit on the right, revealing her leg.  It has one strap on the left side. Kitana wears blue eye shadow, with her finger nails painted sky blue. She takes a deep breath and smiles. Sindel comes into frame. She is wearing a purple dress with long sleeves, with purple lipstick and eyeshadow. Her hair is straight. They smile at each other and hug

Sindel: You look so beautiful! Such elegance and grace! Then again you are a princess

Kitana: Thank you mother.   You look amazing too

Sindel: Oh I'm so proud of you! It feels like just yesterday you were a little girl, full of wonder. Now you are a beautiful woman, about to be married. If only your father could see you

Kitana:  I've been looking forward to this day for so long.  To most people, they see Sub-Zero and view him as this cold, ruthless fighter with no emotion, just an intense glare in his eyes. But to me, he is Kuai Liang. A strong,  handsome, sweet man, who feels comfortable opening up to me. He brings me so much peace and clarity. I am so honored to be marrying him

Sindel: And I am happy my daughter is marrying such a good man. I want you to be treated right, and it's obvious he values you greatly.  I approve of him, and I know for a fact that Jerrod would love him.

Kitana: Father would certainly welcome him with open arms. He isn't here, but I can feel his presence, his spirit

Sindel: I miss him every day.  Please, do tell me how the proposal happened again. I know you have already told me but I just love hearing it. 

Caption: 8 months ago. It has been three weeks after the battle with Raiden.

Panel 2: We see Sub-Zero and Kitana in the same garden from chapter 9. They are unmasked and dressed in their MKX default outfits. Kitana's long hair is down and tucked behind her ears.  The same garden they shared their first kiss in.  The blue flowers appear to be a much brighter blue than before. Sub-Zero takes Kitana's hand. They smile and kiss

Sub-Zero: This garden seems to get more beautiful with each visit

Kitana: It does. I feel so at peace every time we walk through here.  Being with the love of my life makes it even better. 

Sub-Zero: I never thought I would be able to have such peaceful moments like this, much less with such a beautiful, empathetic woman by my side. 

Kitana: You inspire me Kuai Liang. So strong despite your past trauma

Sub-Zero: The feeling is mutual. We refuse to let past issues bring us down. We remain strong in the face of any adversity we face. Except this time, we face it together

Panel 3: They kiss again. Sub-Zero takes Kitana's hands in his, a warm glow in his blue eyes.  He drops down to his right knee, and Kitana's eyes widen and tear up, her face red as she blushes.  He pulls out a black box and opens it, revealing a ring with beautiful blue diamonds encrusted into it

Sub-Zero: I never expected to fall in love. I even said at one point that love gets in the way. I tried to suppress those desires but they were too strong. Then as I got to know you, they overwhelmed me. I had fallen deeply in love, and there was no denying it. I had thought maybe it wasn't meant to be with you because I thought your heart belonged to another... but, for whatever reason, the Elder Gods smiled upon me and blessed me with you. An elegant, strong warrior princess, yet also a caring, understanding woman full of love and empathy, especially to someone like me who has shared similar experiences.  Falling for you has given me so much peace and clarity, and it has only served to make me stronger. All I ask now is that you become Kitana Liang. Will you marry me?
