Panel 1: A hail of bullets is shot at Sub-Zero, which merely bounce off of his hardened skin. A barrage of ice shards is thrown at Damian, which he narrowly dodges. Damian moves forward and throws a kick at Sub-Zero but he gets caught by his ice clone and frozen. The real Sub-Zero appears and sends him away with a kick of his own. Damian falls to the ground and hops back up, able to parry a cross and land one of his own followed by a left hook and a body kick. He throws another body kick but this is checked by Sub-Zero, who counters with a body kick of his own. Sub-Zero throws a jab cross, rolls under a hook from Damian, throws a cross hook cross and lands another hard body kick. Damian staggers but is able to slip a jab and land a hard right uppercut, left hook, cross and right body knee. He goes for a takedown but Sub-Zero stops it by sprawling. Both men are on the ground and Sub-Zero goes for a submission but Damian is able to escape and get back to standing up.
Damian: So you know a bit of wrestling too huh? That was perfect takedown defense.
Sub-Zero: Indeed. A martial artist must train in all fields, both striking and grappling are crucial. I am also well versed in the art of Sanda.
Caption: Sanda, formerly known as Sanshou and also known as Chinese boxing or Chinese kickboxing, is a martial art that combines kickboxing techniques with wrestling takedowns, throws, sweeps, and kick catches.
Damian: Sweet. Looks like we're fans of counterattacking.
Sub-Zero: It appears so. I am quite fond of attacking after countering.
Damian: What about attacking, countering, and then attacking again?
Sub-Zero: I am quite the fan of that as well.
Damian: Looks like we've got similar styles of fighting then.
Panel 2: Damian throws a cross which is easily parried by Sub-Zero, who follows up with a cross and left hook followed by a knee to the body. Sub-Zero throws a cross, Damian slips to the right and counters with a left hook cross left hook right body kick. Damian throws another kick but Sub-Zero catches it and sweeps his leg out from under him, dropping him. Damian is able to recover and send Sub-Zero away with a teep to the body before landing a hard jumping knee which staggers the Cryomancer. He throws a left hook but Sub-Zero pulls away from it and counters with a cross, left body hook, left head hook, cross and head kick, all of his strikes coated in ice. Damian catches a right body kicks and lands a cross on Sub-Zero. He then shoots for a double leg takedown and lifts Sub-Zero up by his legs before slamming him to the ground to complete the takedown. He places his knee on Sub-Zeros chest, his fists coated in some sort of black substance as he reigns ground and pound from above. Sub-Zero blasts him away with an ice beam which causes Damian to leap back. He hops back up to his feet and shoots another ice beam, but Damian disappears in a cloud of what looks like a black mist and reappears behind Sub-Zero, going for a kick. Sub-Zero turns into ice and reforms next to Damian, going for an ice coated right hook, which Damian avoids by turning into the black mist. He then gets caught by Sub-Zero and is judo thrown to the floor. He turns into the blast mist again and reappears a few feet away.
Sub-Zero: That power is very familiar to me. Do you also wield the shadows, or do you use coal magic?
Damian: I was blessed with power that could rival a deity since I like helped my kingdom a lot and shit, it's a long story. I was also given the option to select a cool power so I went with coal magic. Where I'm from, I'm a member of an elite Special Forces unit. Considering I do missions that require me using a lot of stealth, finding out that I could wield a power which allows me to essentially blend in with the shadows was a no-brainer. Enemies don't see me coming, I can make my work a lot easier, it's great. I know the Lin Kuei trained you guys in stealth too from what I've heard.
