Part 2: Chapter 37

PAGE ONE

Panel 1: Shang Tsung throws a flaming skull as Liu Kang throws a fireball. The two projectiles cancel each other out. Both men run forward and begin to throw strikes, each of them blocking the others attempts. Liu Kang lands the first strike, landing a cartwheel kick followed up by his patented flying kick. He goes for a bicycle kick but Shang Tsung blasts him out of the air with some green flaming skulls. Liu Kang hops back up and the two of them engage in another battle. Shang Tsung hits a body knee on Liu Kang and a right uppercut followed by a spinning back kick. Liu Kang comes back with a cross, left hook, cross, a spinning back kick of his own, a backflip kick and then he's able to land the bicycle kick, breaking Shang Tsungs ribcage and knocking him to the floor. Liu Kang goes for another attack but Shang Tsung quickly rolls away from him and gets up. Shang Tsung then summons three fiery skulls from under Liu Kang which launch him into the air. Shang Tsung summons a gigantic flaming cobra that whacks Liu Kang with its tail. It then blasts him with fire. Shang Tsung goes for another flaming skull but Liu Kang teleports away and lands another flaming flying kick before doing a knee strike and ending it with a mid air backflip kick. Liu Kang claps his fists together, flames surrounding them. He lands a left body hook, a left head hook, a right uppercut, another head hook, a cross and then a body kick. Liu Kang lands two swift kicks followed up by a spinning back kick and ending it off with a mule kick, breaking Shang Tsungs face

Zhen: Hell yeah! Dad's already laying on the pressure!

Jiang: If he keeps it up I'm confident he'll win!

Amino: Your father is very familiar with Shang Tsung due to their prior battles. However, I'm sure Shang Tsung is just as familiar with him...

Panel 2: Shang Tsung delivers a chop to Liu Kangs stomach followed up a second spinning overhead chop that shatters the top of his skull. Liu Kang gets knocked down but is able to roll away from a ground skull. Shang Tsung runs forward and kicks Liu Kang in the chest, knocking him away. He teleports to where Liu Kang is and he then briefly transforms into Smoke. The real Smoke and the other Lin Kuei members stare in shock and anger. Shang Tsung takes the same parry stance as Smoke. Liu Kang throws a fireball but Shang Tsung teleports above him and knocks him down before reverting back to his real form. Shang Tsung then lands knee to Liu Kang's body followed by a left hook and a right slash elbow. He kicks Liu Kang in the body before he then turns into Reptile and lands his signature slide, launching Liu Kang into the air. Shang Tsung then turns into Ermac and lands Ermacs signature force lift, slamming Liu Kang into the ground twice. Shang Tsung then shifts back to normal and blasts Liu Kang with a flaming skull before running forward and landing a cross, left hook and another cross followed up by a right head kick and another flaming skull that blasts Liu Kang back. Liu Kang gets up and as Shang Tsung goes for an attack, he parries by teleporting in a burst of flame and appearing above Shang Tsung, knocking him to the floor and stomping on his head. Shang Tsung gets up and Liu Kang begins to assault him with his nunchucks, whacking him in the jaw and body with them.

Panel 3: Liu Kang lands a cartwheel kick followed up by a hard right uppercut. He lands several palm strikes to the body of the sorcerer. Shang Tsung evades a head kick and counters with one of his own. He lands a reverse up elbow and then lands a left hook and a cross to Liu Kang before landing a jumping knee strike. Liu Kang parries a cross and lands a cross of his own to Shang Tsungs jaw. Liu Kang grabs Shang Tsung in the clinch and lands two knees to his body followed by one to his head. He then kicks the sorcerer away. Shang Tsung gets up and smirks at Liu Kang

Shang Tsung: So you have a family now Liu Kang. A wife. Children. I'm sure they give you extra motivation

Liu Kang: Indeed they do. Something you'd never understand sorcerer. You'll never know what it means to have a child who looks up to you. Who wants to see you succeed
