Mortal Kombat: Fire and Ice

Part 2: Chapter 54

PAGE ONE

Panel 1: Goro leads the group into a room, where there's a table with a map on it. Right in the middle of it is Outworlds Kamidogu.  Kintaro and Sheeva are in there, talking to other Shokan warriors.

Kung Lao: Baraka told us there's been a civil war going on among the Shokan. 

Goro: Yes, that's true. Kintaro found the Kamidogu while we were out hunting. Originally we had plans to use it as a means to boost the power of the Shokan, but we found out that this item had terrible side effects to it. We heard that the power drove you mad, and made you lose yourself to it in a blind rage. We chose not to use it, as we felt it would only negatively affect the Shokan . We chose to keep it hidden and away from us. However, there are those among us who sought the power regardless of the effects. It led to a disagreement, and eventually the side who wanted to use the Kamidogu attacked. Ever since then we've been in a back and forth struggle. You're all strong and skilled. If you help us secure victory in this civil war, you'll have the full allegiance of the Shokan in your battle. 

Panel 2: The warriors all nod and shake hands with Goro. 

Sheeva: They're planning an attack from the North most likely.  They've had success there before. 

Kintaro: I say we go to them instead. The last time we let them come to us it almost resulted in us losing not only the Kamidogu but our lives. 

Goro: Normally that would be an unwise decision... but considering who we have with us,  there is a chance that can work.  I say we attack them first. They are close to being done for, and with this final push I'm confident in our victory. 

Baraka: Then let us gather the troops and lead the assault.

Panel 3: We cut to a battlefield, where Goro's army is gathered. There are several massive Shokan bones and skeletons, all casualties of the civil war.   Goro is leading the charge, and the group happens upon another large castle that can be seen in the distance.  

Goro: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, I will need you two to start us off.

Sub-Zero: Understood. Hanzo!

Scorpion: I'm way ahead of you Kuai!

Panel 4: Sub-Zero rushes forward by using one hand as an ice slide, using his free hand to shoot a massive ice blast that freezes the guards.  Scorpion appears in the air and channels Hellfire into his fist, slamming it down into the ground and causing a massive explosion that incinerates the frozen guards and blows the doors open.  This leads to a look of surprise from the Shokans inside, who weren't expecting such an attack. The army charges in and begins to engage in battle with the enemy Shokans. Liu Kang lands a flying kick that sends an enemy crashing into a group.  A Shokan with a crown peers out from a balcony and spots the enemy army, before laying eyes on Goro.  He has tiger stripes, just like Kintaro.

The enemy Shokan: What?! Damn it! Goro must have figured out our plans and attacked first! 

Panel 5: The Shokan runs out and sees Goro and Kintaro easily decimating several of his forces. Goro soon comes face to face with his rival.

Goro: Kuatan!

Kuatan: We were planning an assault in the night. Yet it appears you were able to find out our plans ahead of time

Goro: You have had a lot of success attacking us from the North entrance. It was only logical we would pick up on that habit.

Kuatan: You can see our attack patterns yet you can't see the benefits of the Kamidogu!

Goro: Its drawbacks far outweigh its benefits! It can give one of us enough power to single handedly wipe out our entire species in a mad fit of rage! It brings me no joy to go to war against my fellow Shokan, but if I must do it in order to preserve our species for the future, then so be it!
