PAGE ONE

Caption: The Netherrealm

Panel 1: We see Sareena in her MKX outfit. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are with her.  She takes out a dagger with a black handle. 

Sareena: So... Bi-Han is trying to attack...

Scorpion: He is. At least according to Raiden's vision. 

Sub-Zero: I have no doubt that he has gotten stronger as well

Sareena: Knowing Bi-Han, it's likely he's devised some sort of scheme. All these years later and I haven't even come close to saving him...

Sub-Zero: I know... at the same time though, a part of me feels like he wants to remain as he is. I feel like he enjoys his current state

Scorpion: The last time we fought, fifteen years ago, he thanked me for freeing him and making him the way he is. 

Sareena: Maybe he feels things such as pride and compassion made him weak. Things that made him human. It's just, I was able to see a different side to him. 

Sub-Zero: He was always a good brother to me. I know he had the potential to be good and let his heart thaw but it seems that he chose to let the cold fully take over towards the end of his life

Scorpion: The first time we battled... when he was still alive, he insulted my clan and then Quan Chi exploited my rage and thirst for vengeance... had I listened, maybe we wouldn't be here...

Sareena: Don't worry. Bi-Han and the Lin Kuei in general have made poor choices before

Sub-Zero: Indeed. I love my brother and my clan, however I'll be the first to admit that both are not entirely innocent. Perhaps if Bi-Han had not stoked your anger,  the outcome would be different

Scorpion: Maybe. When you truly think about it, Quan Chi and Sektor were the ones who took our rivalry to this point. I know that our clans always had one, but those two took it to an entirely new level. 

Sub-Zero: Indeed. As I said when I found out the truth, our history would have been different had I known of my clan's complicity

Scorpion: All that matters now is that we've both moved past that 

Sub-Zero: Indeed my friend.  Now. Sareena, what is that dagger for?

Sareena: It's a dagger that can permanently get rid of revenants. If we are unable to save Bi-Han, then stab him with this to finally free his soul and let him rest

Sub-Zero: I just hope it doesn't come to that...

Scorpion: I'll do everything in my power to help save him

Sareena: You... would?

Sub-Zero: You do not owe me that favor Hanzo

Scorpion: I know. But it's because of my actions that Bi-Han became like this in the first place.  I let my judgement and reason get clouded, and I'll do my best to help free him. 

Sub-Zero:  We all will

Sareena: Indeed. Here, take this. Just in case. 

Panel 2: Sareena gives Sub-Zero the dagger.  He looks at it for a bit, before bowing to Sareena. She bows back.  Sareena opens a portal and Scorpion and Sub-Zero step through it.

Caption: The Lin Kuei temple

Panel 1:  Sub-Zero steps into frame, a serious expression on his face. Kitana looks at him as he walks by, a concerned look in her eyes. Bao looks at his dad curiously.    He walks into his room and closes his door before sitting on his bed.
