PAGE 1

Panel 1: There is a large arena, with a stone floor, and a roof being held up by stone pillars. The arena has a bright blue color, similar to the color of the Jinsei. There are six corners, and in each corner is one statue, two of them being Raiden and a partially destroyed Shinnok. These statues represent the Elder Gods, and considering it features Shinnok, these statues were made before he betrayed his fellow Gods. Standing in the middle of the arena are our characters: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Raiden

Panel 2: ( a close-up of Raiden's face, with a noticeably angry expression)

RAIDEN: . For too long, Earthrealm has been on the defensive. We have defeated our enemies, yet no retribution was exacted. For our mercy, we have only gone through more senseless violence, more deaths. That ends today!

Panel 3: ( We cut to Sub-Zero)

SUB-ZERO: (He has an eyebrow raised, and his expression is one of slight confusion) Then how do you propose we deal with our enemies, Raiden? Also, would you mind telling us just where we are?

Raiden: (turns his head toward Sub-Zero) Once the two of you have been sufficiently trained, we will lead a full-scale attack on the NetherRealm. They are a threat who must be purged. As for where we are, these are sacred training grounds. Only the most worthy are allowed to come here. When the Elder Gods find two beings who have incredible latent abilities, they are bought here to receive special training from the gods themselves, thus making them the champions and representatives in Mortal Kombat. Panel 4: (The Shirai Ryu grandmaster is standing next to Sub-Zero, his arms crossed and his usual serious look in his eyes)

SCORPION: You do not know the NetherRealm too well, Raiden. How do you know if you will not be walking into a trap, or even where you're going?

Panel 5: (Raiden turns to Scorpion)

PANEL 1: (Scorpion nods his head)

CAPTION: Hanzo thinks back to the years he spent in the NetherRealm. Due to his previous position as Quan Chi's right hand man, he was entrusted with the sorcerer's most valuable items and secrets, including the necessary spells to resurrect the dead-and the possible knowledge to restore them back to human form.

Scorpion: And what of the revenants Raiden? Quan Chi's spell book is located in a hidden place in his fortress that only I am aware of, just in case he was ever killed and his fortress was destroyed. I remember when your magic countered his, I, along with Sub-Zero and Jax, were returned to human form. Perhaps if we obtain the book and cast the spell, you can use your magic to counter it.

Sub-Zero: Perhaps Sareena can also be of assistance. She was able to free herself from Quan Chi's control, maybe she can do the same for the other revenants and revert them back to their former selves.

PANEL 2: Raiden has a pondering look on his face

CAPTION: Raiden knew the revenants also posed a problem, yet he knew that they would join the fight if they were still alive
