Chapter Seven: Operation Nine-Tails

"Why did it have to happen right now." Mason complained as the group ran down the Highway, Mason calling ahead to his crew aboard his deck to open the door. The three Protogen behind him looked faintly worried about his distress.

"Tell Viscera to arm the crew, there are Pattern-Screamers emerging on a nearby planet, in this segment. We can save the people, we just need to get there fast." Mason yelled, and they quickly dispersed, as the deck-crew already alerted everyone that they were about to head into the Fold-Stream.

"Captain!" Nebula quickly yelled as Mason entered the room, Aberration not even noticing due to his intense staring at his monitor, "It's too soon. We barely had enough sustainability to get here. If we Fold now, our Generators will literally collapse."

Mason gave her a hard stare, one that made her back down, "And the generators can be repaired. Lives cannot. These are Planets, Nebula. And I think I know a thing or two about what it feels like to lose a planet. Punch it."

Nebula quickly nodded, hastily twisting her chair around and sitting down upon it. Mason sat in his own chair, the familiar feeling of coldness sweeping up his spine. He didn't bother to check if anyone wasn't in their station, as he knew the message had already been sent out to all the crew.

And with all the mental keys put into place, Mason felt heat rip through the entire ship. He held onto his chair tightly, feeling themselves slipping through the folds of space-time. The ship was being twisted as it's metallic foundations were being stripped away, too diluted with the anti-reality around them to properly hold onto themselves.

Space moved around them as they stood stationary, light fractured into millions of tiny pieces as it all zoomed past them. Mason stood, stony will against the onslaught, determined not to lose another planet when they could reach it.

And in that exact second they left, they appeared in the atmosphere of the planet. The ship's functions failed as the generators were completely annihilated, the anti-gravity coils situated at the very base of the ship the only thing keeping it afloat.

"Aberration, Operation Nine-Tails is in order." Mason yelled at the Shields officer, quickly detaching himself from his chair. He ran out the door, his paws stinging the ground with the force of his run.

As Aberration turned the dial and pressed the button, a mechanical noise erupted from all directions. The screeching of gears and pulleys and steam as they walls were lifted up. The entire lower deck was tucked away nicely, secured by what little remained of the Boson Energy.

Within the next second, another rumble leveled through the ship as it's bottom part opened up. Mason called out through the ship as every fight-trained Protogen ran to heed his call. Bailout quickly stood beside him, cracking the bones in his claws to prepare himself with stopping twelve beings in space just above the surface of the ground below.

Through the Mind-Link that Mason barely used upon the ship, he said, "We need to get down there as fast as possible. Rallycry, you're up." Mason yelled behind him as he ran, his ears laying flat against his head as the noise nearly deafened him.

A purple and black protogen appeared beside him, shooting past all the others. The direct opposite to Bailout, Rallycry could instantly speed up any object or organism already in motion to incredible speeds, just to the point where they wouldn't be majorly hurt.

With Rallycry beside him and Bailout on the other, Mason felt confident that they would get there in time. The ship would remain functional, but they would be marooned on the planet for a good while. Gear-Work would keep it semi-functional, in any case.
