Part 33

"Better off."

"A-are you taking care of them... All?" I asked Mingyu as we both looked at the seven toddlers sitting in front of us, quietly.

"Well it happened that the nanny of this four kids left so I am ordered to take care of them too. But I cannot do this alone, so I asked for your.. Help." Mingyu said and I smiled, picking up the kid in twin braids and looked back at Mingyu.

"Don't worry, I'll be here to help." I said and received a small warm hug from the kid I'm carrying which really made me bawl.

"What's their routine? I mean... Their schedule?" I asked and Mingyu opened a small note and their time doing stuffs were all listed down.

"Noontime, they're already done with bath, morning hygiene and foods. At this state, they're supposed to be at the playgroup as I make their lunch." Mingyu said and I looked back at the kids and back at Mingyu.

"Should I play with them?" I said and ordered the kids to follow me to their playgroup so Mingyu can peacefully do his job.

It started off really peaceful, the kids were just playing while on the other side of the room, I could also smell the scent of nice lunch that Mingyu was making on the kitchen that really made me smile.

But then, the sugar started to kick in inside the toddlers that they started going as chaotic as wind. I came running around the area, chasing them as they run chaotic laps.

"No, no, no, Daisy, not the remote!" I said and carried Daisy, removing her grip from the TV remote control and sat her down the small chair.

"Aw, what's going on here?" Mingyu asked as he entered the room, confused after seeing me and the chaos occuring.

"I bet you made them a lot of sugar this morning." I said and Mingyu chuckled, scratching the back of his neck as he piled up the kids in one corner.

"Kids, it's now time for lunch! So? What do we do before eating?" Mingyu asked the kids with a big smile and the kids raised their hands and loudly replied.

"Wash your hands!"

They are now in a straight line, waiting for their own turns to wash their hands, seems like Mingyu taught them well to take care of each other and themselves too.

"Eh! Nana!" Chulo came to me with his pouty lips, laying his palms to me like he's requesting me to wash his hands which I find so cute that I couldn't say no.

"Here, I'll help." I said and knelt down his height so I can reach him and help him wash his little hands.

"Nana! Nado!" Tina said, asking that I should wash her hands too and almost the rest of them did requested me to wash their hands and Mingyu bursted out laughing at me.

"Can I at least get a help then?" I said and Mingyu just continued laughing that made me laugh too. This guy is really in my nerves.

Well, the day is quite stressful but enjoyable, after the kids have eaten, they have done brushing their teeths, went for a nap, went to the playground in the afternoon with me and Mingyu just literally chasing them around the area and now, we just finished changing them into their pajamas to tuck them into bed.

"Do you know how to make their formulas?" Mingyu asked and I shook my head. "How would I know? It varies and I actually had never made a baby formula perfectly yet." I replied and Mingyu gave me a disappointed 'tsk' that somewhat hurted me inside.

"Hey, just because you know how to make one!"

"How would we take care of our baby in the future if you ca—"

"There are kids behind you, moron." I said and pinched his arm to silence him from his silliness again.

"Nana, hungry!"

"Nana's coming.." I replied and rushed to go to the kids and pulled their sheets to cover them as I gave them their formulas.

Just as I was about to leave, Chulo threw his bottle that almost hit me on the back, I looked at him in confusion and he gave me puppy eyes and there I got what he meant. I couldn't throw the responsibility to Mingyu since he's also carrying Daisy and feeding her with her bottle 'til she falls asleep so I had no other choice but to carry Chulo and lull him to sleep as well.

"Nana, sing please.."

I-I... what?

"Sing, Nana... Please.. ?"

What a request.

Do I even know how to sing?

"O-okay.. Nana will sing for Chulo." I said and Chulo timidly smiled, closing his eyes as he wait for me to sing. Damn, I haven't done that to anyone unless it's Mama.

"Rock a bye baby, on the tree top, 
When the wind blows the cradle will rock..." I softly sang as my other hand caressed Chulo's hair and him quite loving it.

"When the bough breaks the cradle will fall, 
And down will come baby, cradle and all..." I continued to lull him to sleep and walked around the room to make him more sleepy.

"And down will come baby... Cradle and all..." I ended the song as I placed Chulo back in his bed and covered him with the blanket as he finally fell asleep with the rest of the kids.

I sat on the carpet in the middle of the room and waited for Mingyu to finally put down Daisy and sit beside me.

"Wow, that's the first time I heard you sing." Mingyu said in a low voice and I scratched the back of my neck as I replied. "I had no choice after all. And... Was it.. Bad?" I asked and he shook his head as he smiled, "No, it's so soothing. I almost dropped Daisy as I felt sleepy by your lullaby too." He said and we both silently chuckled at each other.

"Can you... sing for me too?"

"No. You're not them."

"Please?"

"I said what I said. Stop pleading or you might wake the kids." I said and Mingyu pouted, shrugging as he gave up and pulled a blanket, covering himself out of upsetness.

"Such a kid, Mr." I whispered and he didn't replied but just chuckled and layed his head on my lap.

"Then, I'll just go to sleep with a heavy head after you declined my request." He said and it took me a whole five minutes before I realized what he just said. Excuse me, my lap is not for you to sleep on !!!!

But.. before I could even push him off my lap, I heard his small snores and that made me stop.

He... He's already sleeping..

I couldn't move my hand to push him off and what I just did is I pulled the blanket to cover him properly and brush off his hair that had been disheveled for quite some time already.

I stared at his peaceful aura while he's sleeping and I didn't realized that I'm already smiling.

"You've at least did a great job today..." I said and kissed my palm and placed it on his forehead as what I often see in the movies.

"Good night, Mingyu."

"I know and I hope this is what's best for us... To be better off as friends..."
