Chapter Seventy-Four : Save The Date

"Hey, would you like to go to the new attraction with me this Saturday?"

"Damn it," Marco cursed under his breath, feeling pathetic for himself as he didn't have any backbone to ask out Star on what seemingly isn't a "date". Instead, he's wasting time practicing those simple lines whilst he stared at his own ugly reflection.

He narrowed his eyes in scrutiny, watching his own hazel orbs of eyes glare against him. If his reflection was alive, then it would've laughed on how he was a wuss.

His hands were beginning to become clammy with just the thought of asking her out and the countless possibilities of which he could get the fair lady to say yes, or walk the long shame of humiliation--the later seeming more inevitable.

He sighed and reclined back to his couch, plopping himself with a slight poof as he fished out for his phone and stared at the contacts.

"Hey," he greeted in a raspy tone.

"Marco?" the receiver replied, the sound of television blaring was audible on the background. If Marco was making a guess, then he would've predicted it was airing some reruns of some Football matches.

"Hey Tom, I need some advice," Marco swallowed the lump on his throat, a sweat defiantly trickled from his temple to his chin.

"---I got some tickets for this attraction called "Disco Pang Pang." "

    "And?"

"--and you know..." Marco sheepishly fumbled with his words, stalling the time instead of blurting it on one go. "--I want to invite Star."

    "Oh."

    "What should I do?"

"Just ask her without any hesitance," Tom replied. "--I think she'll say yes since you're friends."

Marco felt a slight tinge to his chest. 'Friends'. Just when did that word became so triggering and painful? Marco believed that be should he grateful enough to have Star talk to him, but he still has needs.

He wanted her to like him too. As much as Marco hated to admit it, he was acting like a sappy, starstruck brat who would be willing to jump to the moon for her to accept his feelings. While that may be the case,  liking someone sure does make a person so cheesy.

If Janna just knew what he was doing or thinking, then she might as well deafen his ears with teasing remarks and retorts.

He knows that he could just like someone else and he's still young, but he can't get the mesmerising blonde out of his head.

     "Marco?"

   "..yeah?"

"I think the only thing you can do is truly ask her out and see for yourself. If you hesitate, then you'll miss your chances."

    "I know.."

"I'm sorry. I'm being unhelpful right?"

"Oh no, not really. It's just that I have no other choices."

   "Hmm.."

"And if she does decline, I'll give the tickets to you. Take Janna out for a date okay?"

"Hey don't jinx yourself man. You don't know yet. I'm sure everything will be fine."

    "Thanks."

"Well I gotta be going, I'm going to the library to pick up Janna."

"Sheesh. You're such a hardworking lover boy aren't you?"
