You finished your soul searching not long after Bucharest. You moved to New York purely because you always wanted to. You stayed because you found a good stable job as a newspaper journalist. It's what you completed your degree on but you never thought it would be your future in all reality.
You're at your desk working when everyone begins to gather round the screen in the break room. Intrigued, you head over to see what everyone is looking at. Just like 2 years ago, carnage is plastered across the tv.
You whisper to your colleague, not wanting to disturb everyone.

"What's going on?"
Colleague
"Attack on the UN ceremony for those Sokovia Accords things."
You draw your attention back to the screen as his face pops up briefly.
Y/n
"Hey, turn it up!"
Anchor
"Officials have released a video of a suspect who they have identified as James Buchanan Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier."
You squint your eyes at the screen trying to see the grainy image clearer. Without a second thought, you grab your stuff from your desk and run out the door, leaving everyone still huddled around the tv.
