Leave Me Feeling Confident - THE DRIVER ERA

*4 months later*

You're now 8 months along and very much showing. A month or so to go and you're on your last job before maternity leave. Ironically, it's a baby shoot; a mother wanting pictures of her new born. It's not your specialty but you shadowed another photographer a few times to learn the intricacies. Most people think it's just like every other shoot, but you have to be careful with positions. Making sure the baby's head is always supported, if they're swaddled then they still need room to move, no props with irritants, and not to mention that you may have to constantly stop if the baby is hungry or needs a nappy change or too hot or or or...

On this particular shoot, the mother wanted it done in her own home and picked out her own props. You brought your own back drop just in case but again, the parents requested natural lighting only, so the only other thing you brought was your camera. Their house isn't far from yours so it's only a short drive till you pull into a very sizeable driveway. Almost as soon as you get out of the car and begin to grab the backdrop from the back seat, a woman of similar height and build rushes out from the front door to help you.

Woman
"Here, let me!"

Y/n
"Thank you."

Woman
"Hi, I'm Andy."

Y/n
"I'm y/n, nice to meet you."

Andy
"My partner, James, is inside with the baby."

Turning towards the door, you follow as she opens it and steps aside for you to enter.

Y/n
"Oh, my boyfriend's name is James but everyone calls him Bucky."

Andy
"Oh, really? We usually just stick with James around here. Jamie, if I want something."

Laughing as she leads you through to the living room, you see a tall, well built man cradling a tiny human in his arms, gently rocking back and forth.

Andy
"This is James, and this little one is Avery."

Pulling out one hand from under the baby, James extends it towards you for a handshake.

James
"Nice to meet you."

Y/n
"You too."

Andy
"I thought we could do it in here as it has the best lighting. I'm a photographer myself but I wanted someone else's style and ideas. I loved the photos on your website!"

Y/n
"Thank you! I haven't been doing this for too long but I like to think I have an eye for this sort of stuff."

Andy
"Oh, you definitely do! Shall we get started?"
