You're getting ready with Alice at her apartment because she's always been better at the whole hair and makeup thing. She's basically done everything except for your nails, which she made you get done earlier in the week.
Alice
"Okay! I think my work here is done!"
She took a step back and looked at you as a whole, beaming with pride for her masterpiece.
Y/n
"You don't think it's too much??"
You fiddle with bits of the dress and jewellery.
Alice
"You're kidding right? I would have gone bigger if you weren't so worried about being overdressed."
You take a deep breath and put on your coat. Giving Alice a hug as she hands you your purse, you start to head out the door.
Y/n
"Thank you, I'll speak to you tomorrow."
As you close the door, she shouts after you one more time making you laugh down the hallway.
Alice
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!"
You spring down each step of the building with a graceful skip. This is exactly what you needed to take your mind off of everything.
When you reach the street below, you hail a cab and give one last wave to Alice who's still standing in the window as you drive away.
Okay, deep breath y/n. It's just a flashy event with a friend. Nothing to be nervous about.
