It's been a couple of weeks since you ran into Bucky. You've been covering the flagsmashers piece and so get fed various pieces of intel that happen to mention him. It's nice to hear about him doing good things for once.
You're called into a meeting with your boss about the piece.
JJJ
"Ah, y/n! I want you at the GRC meeting tonight. Press aren't allowed inside but you can get in there right?"
You breath in sharply, preparing to tell him no. You didn't love your job at the best of times but when you're being forced to put your Visa at risk, you hated it.
He cuts you off before you can reply.
JJJ
"Good! There's rumours of something going down with the Flag-smashers so if it does then we can't miss it."
You've gotten good at knowing when J is asking or ordering. This time it was an order, so you smiled politely, nodded and left the room. Before you're all the way out the door, he calles after you.
JJJ
"Oh and Y/n..."
You think for the first time that he might actually tell you to be careful, that he might care about his employees safety.
JJJ
"Don't screw it up, this could be big for both our careers."
Yeah... didn't think so.
