Happy Ending - Mika
It's a week before she'll have to be moved. I spend most of my time here now. I don't exactly have much else to do, but that's besides the point.
I left for a weekend to visit Sam and his family but as soon as I was back in town, I went straight there. The staff on the desk outside her ward are quite familiar with me now, so I give a quick nod and smile as I walk past. Out of the corner of my eye, I see one of them rush to catch up with me. She stops in front of me, putting her hand up as a signal for me to stop.
Nurse
"Bucky! I thought Alice would have called you??"
My heart sinks. I know she's either awake, or...
Bucky
"Where is she?"
I try not to sound aggressive but I need to know what's going on. Why has nobody called me.
Nurse
"She's resting, she woke up last night."
I push past her to see y/n through the window in the door, sitting up in her bed, looking through the book I had left. Slowly, I step towards the door and open it. As I unlatch the door, she looks up from the page with a look of uncertainty.
Y/n
"Hey..."
Bucky
"Hey."
