Legendary - Welshly Arms

3 months of the program go by. Then 5. Then 7. Then the next thing you know, its been a year since the whole Sharon thing. After living undisturbed since, it feels like longer.
The program is nearly over. It's only a year long worth of teaching, after that most trainees start shadowing in the field. It's not fully necessary so you put your foot down and insisted that once a year had gone by, you would just be on call. No more training. That's set to happen in 3 months.

Right now, to mark the anniversary of your kidnapping, you've asked to see Sharon. You haven't even laid eyes on her since knocking her to the ground in that corridor, but you decided it was time. With help from Sam and Fury, you got the 'powers that be' to agree to a 5 minute conversation. A wall of glass between you at all times and no privacy, guards and cameras stay. Whether that's for her safety or yours, you don't ask.

You're not allowed to know the location of The Raft so your helicopter's windows are blacked out. Bucky came with you and probably will stand next to you when you see her. More for his entertainment than your support.
Upon arriving, you're lead inside and searched for anything and everything. Any object that wasn't a piece of clothing was taken from you. Even your grocery list.

One long elevator ride later, and the large metal door slides to reveal a well lit room with cells lining the walls. All are empty, except one.

Something's Gotta Give - Camilla Cabello

Sharon
"Well well well... I was wondering when I'd see you again."

Y/n
"Sorry for the delay."

After scanning each other, taking in every detail, your eyes finally rest on one another's gaze again. Sharon gives a breathy laugh before speaking.

Sharon
"So. What do you want?"

You give her a dead eyed smile as you approach the the thick bars and sheet of glass.

Y/n
"The satisfaction of seeing you trapped, maybe?"

Her slight smirk disappears as you begin to look round the room and her cell.

Y/n
"I mean, it's quite the roll reversal, isn't it? I'm out here, you're in there. I would laugh about it, but I'm not you."

Sharon
"We'll now that you've seen me, I suppose you'll be on your merry way."

Y/n
"You'd think. But don't you want an update first? After being in here for so long I thought you'd want to know as much as possible about the outside world!?"

Obviously finding the conversation tedious, Sharon sits down on the very uncomfortable looking bed to her right.

Y/n
"Well, you'll be happy to hear they got rid of the whole Extremis thing, so no more burnt wrists."

You gesture down to the raised skin on her arm, scars in the shape of your fingers.

Y/n
"Thanks to you though, I'm almost a fully qualified agent for Fury. Wasn't exactly part of my 10 year plan but rest assured I'm keeping my day job."

Sharon
"Let me guess, he gave you some rousing speech about responsibility and consequence?"

Y/n
"Something like that."

After a sizeable pause of you just staring at each other, Sharon stands back up and you both approach the glass to be as close as possible.

Y/n
"After everything you did... The way you violated me just to hurt the man I love... I'm still here. I have my own business. We just took out a mortgage on a beautiful house. I'm happy. Things are different and they're never going to go back to how they were. But I don't hate you for it."

Placing one hand on the metal bar that's level with your neck, you lean forward.

Y/n
"I forgive you, Sharon."

Her eyes go from furrowed to soft as her lips part in surprise. She wasn't expecting this. She thought maybe you'd threaten her, shout at her. Perhaps even bribe the guards to let you have 5 minutes alone to rough her up. But instead, this.

A radio like voice sounds from the speaker to your top left.

Voice
"Times up."

Still maintaining eye contact with Sharon, you feel Bucky's hand on your shoulder.

Bucky
"Come on."

You gently smile at Sharon with genuine kind eyes, before re-entering the lift. As the door slides shut, you see Sharon still stood there in disbelief.

Bucky
"Did you know that's what you were gonna say?"

Y/n
"Nope."

Your eyes are fixed forward, trying to control the outpour of emotions you tried your best to conceal once you first set eyes on her. Noticing your change in breathing pattern, all he does is take your hand in his. A gesture of his pride and support, calming you instantly.
