It's about 22:00 and your all sitting around the dining room table talking. You've gone through the conversation of how you actually got together and the real reason you were in a coma. You tried to lead the conversation so that nobody brought up Bucky's past life. The UN Summit attack was world wide news so they definitely knew him for that. Obviously it wasn't actually him, but they were bound to ask if they were left to their own devices.

"Wow. So not the coffee shop story you told me then, hey."

You were very vague about the part in Washington, trying not to make it sound as bad. Saying it all out loud, you realise how far fetched it all sounds; you going back out there after seeing him on the news, bumping into each other in NYC. But it's the truth. Messy and complicated.

Y/n
"Sorry, I didn't really think it was the time or place to tell you the long version."

You all sit in silence for a minute as the others try to wrap their heads around it.

Y/n
"By the way, please don't tell Mum and Dad on Sunday. They'll make a big deal and I don't really fancy the lecture."

Bucky
"Crap, have I made you the black sheep?"

Everyone laughs quietly, not sure if he's kidding.

Y/n
"Don't worry, I never needed any help with that. If anything, they'll get all excited about the fact that you're an avenger and think I'm the bad influence."

Bucky's laugh sets everyone at ease again as they join him.

Ben
"So what did you do before the whole superhero thing?"

Bucky
"A bit of everything really, I did a bit of work at the docks, some at a boxing gym I went to. I was an army school kid so enlisting was kinda inevitable, war or not."

Y/n
"Jaq was a lieutenant colonel in the special forces."

He turns to look at Jaq as she speaks.

Jaq
"3 tours in Afghanistan. Retired after the blip happened. One of those 'life is short' realisations."

Bucky smiles a little with the fact that he has some common ground. Wanting to change the subject, he turns to Ben.

Bucky
"What about you, what do you do?"

Ben
"Uh I'm a major actually. That's how we met. I asked to be moved to a different regiment so that I could ask out my superior officer. It didn't work so I asked her anyway."

There's a sweet look between Jaq and Ben as he reminisces. After a while, Bucky turns to Grayson and changes the focus to him.

"And you? I'm guessing there's a trend of impressive professions here?"

Everyone gives a chuckle before Grayson speaks up.

Grayson
"I'm a paediatrician in the NHS."

Bucky
"I was right."

Everyone laughs as Max addresses you.

Max
"That reminds me, how's the photography going?"

Y/n
"Good! I'm officially busy with work so I must be doing something right."

Max
"Snapped anyone we know yet?"

Everyone looks at you slyly, waiting for a response.

Y/n
"Not as of yet, mainly events like weddings, birthdays etc. But I love it, really. I'm happy to be away from the rumour mill."

You look round to see everyone smiling at you, which makes you look down shyly.

Jaq
"Right! Enough shop talk! Who's up for some games?"
