Bucky's POV

I ignore the cameras as I walk towards to building, waved on by security. I'm stopped by a man who seems vaguely suspicious, but I'm too preoccupied to care. When the mask is peeled off to reveal Sharon, we walk towards the building together and stop after making it inside. She grabs my arm before I have a chance to do a lap of the perimeter.

Sharon
"They're saying there's already a breach in the west service entrance. Security footage was down but they've managed to use a near by street camera."

She pulls out her phone to show me the footage. A few men in suits and flagsmasher masks head towards the door which is what I expected. A small time jump and the camera picks up someone else heading inside.

Bucky
"Y/n??"

Sharon
"One of the flagsmashers?"

Bucky
"No. At least I don't think so. What the hell is she doing here?"

I turn around ready to call it into Sam, but instead I'm passed another phone. This time Karli is on the other end.

Bucky
"Is she one of yours?"

Karli is surprised by my almost aggressive tone.

Karli
"Who? The journalist?? No, but we thought she'd be of interest to you. It's the only reason she's not dead so count yourself lucky. She's been 'studying us' for a while shall we say. We didn't even know she was connected to you until we found some old pictures of Bucharest. We're quite fortunate she showed up really."

I'm growing more and more annoyed at her manipulation thanks to y/n's stupidity. I know she's here for work, why else? She might be about to get herself killed for a newspaper.

Bucky
"If this is supposed to motivate me or anger me, it won't work. I barely know her."

Karli laughed slightly at the statement.

Karli
"Come on James... we both know that's a lie. It seems you both did some research on one another. I'd say you know her pretty well at this point."

I stay silent, not wanting to show any emotion.

Karli
"I can kill her now if you want? She hasn't exactly been kind to us in the paper, it would be a statement."

Her words are unsettling but I have to remain calm. My silence is enough though. Enough for her to know that she is getting to me. Shit.

Karli
"Aren't you tired of fighting for the wrong side mr Barnes?"
