Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers

It's been a year since the incident in DC. After selling a few of your pictures to local newspapers, you decided that all the best material requires you to find it, rather than waiting for it to turn up on your doorstep. You've spent the past 4 months travelling around Europe; Paris, Athens, Moscow etc. But now you're in Bucharest, still searching for some inspiration. And that's where you spot him.

Watching some street performers dance around the cobbles, constantly snapping as you circle them, you stop every few minutes to make sure you're actually getting some good shots. But in checking the last few, you see a familiar face.
You head shoots up and you desperately scan the crowd for those all too familiar blue eyes and brown locks of hair. When you finally spot what you think might be him, you decide that following him is a good idea. Why? Who knows? Perhaps you have a death wish.

After a few minutes of weaving between people just to keep up, you watch as the top of his head dips into a quiet side road. Confident that you can stay hidden, you slowly approach and peek round the corner. However you are met by a violent yet defensive struggle as he pins you to the wall once again, this time his forearm is across your shoulders and the other hand presses a concealed blade between two of your ribs.

Man
"Why are you following me?"

You can sense a slight fear in his tone.

Y/n
"Do you remember me?"

His head drops slightly as he avoids your gaze.

Man
"Washington? Are you insane?? I could have killed you."

You lift your arms up in surrender before you speak.

Y/n
"I just wanna talk. You owe me at least that considering I couldn't talk for a month after our last encounter."

You angle your head slightly to reveal the faint scarring of fingernail marks on the side of your neck.
He drops his hands away, accepting that you're not a threat. He takes a step back, still avoiding looking you in the eye.

Man
"Whatever you have to say to me, we can't do it here. Follow me."

He begins his familiar march back towards the street, assuming you'll follow. Which you do. Much to your own surprise. It's not every day you follow a stranger, who once almost killed you, into a city you're not completely familiar with.
