The rest of the evening was as pleasant as it could be given your father's disregard for delecate matters such as Bucky's arm, your career change, your future together. You decided not to tell everyone about you moving in together, so as to not cause a massive fuss. You said your final goodbyes to your sisters' family and your parents before you left. Max and Grayson went back to the apartment that night so you all took a walk back and crashed into bed immediately. Your flight back to New York was at 7:00 am which meant that you had to get up excruciatingly early so you weren't late and could avoid the metal detectors without suspicion from other passengers. Just being carefully escorted round them by staff made you laugh at the fact an avenger can't do something as simple as go through airport security.
Bucky still didn't quite trust himself to properly sleep on the flight so he dozed in and out of consciousness, trying his best to stay awake despite the lack of sleep. You made up for it however, when you got back. Jet lagged and a little sleep deprived, it felt incredible to settle down in a familiar bed within each other's arms.
