She Said - Plan B
Walking into the pub, the atmosphere is lively but friendly. It's seems as though everyone is out with friends for evening drinks. It's late enough that the dinner crowd has either left or are leaving. Without hesitation, Max trots over to the bar and orders three pints whilst you and Bucky find a table. After not too long, Max joins you and places the drinks in front of you both.
You spend the next hour or so just talking, Max and Bucky getting to know each other mostly. You can't help but sit back every now and then and just smile at their interaction, beaming at how comfortable they already seem with each other.
After a while, you've all finished your 3rd round of drinks. All of you are on non-alcoholic now as Max has work the next day, you're not much of a drinker and drinking too much makes Bucky nervous. He's always worried that someone will notice that it has no effect on him and think that he's some kind of seasoned alcoholic.
Max
"Another round?"
It's already getting towards midnight so you hesitantly agree.
Y/n
"One more and then I'm crashing."
Bucky grabs his jacket from behind him and starts to put it on.
Bucky
"I'm gonna call it a night actually. You guys stay though, I'm just gonna head straight to bed."
You take his hand as he stands up, making sure that he's okay.
Y/n
"You sure?"
He looks down at you and gives a reassuring smile, happier than usual.
Bucky
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I'll see you in a bit."
You hold his gaze for a second, double checking that he's not lying. The last thing you want is to let him go home alone if he's not in the best head space.
Max
"Here, take my key to the lift. We'll use the spare at the front desk."
Bucky takes the key and gives one last wave as he leaves the pub.
Max
"Right! Now we're alone: dish!"
You look over to the pool table in the corner which is unoccupied.
Y/n
"Okay, I'll tell you whatever you wanna know whilst I trounce you."
You get up and start pacing over, knowing that he'd never back down from the challenge.
Max
"Deal."
