Surprise bitch

Lukes P.O.V-

I stop suddenly as I see her again. Was I seeing things or was Maddie's mum right in front of me?

I spot Maddie looking at me confused in the corner of my eye and she turns to see her mother staring at us both.

"Well, if it isn't my daughter and her husband" She smiles and gets a little closer. I feel Maddie back away from her and into my chest so I put my arms around her for comfort.

"Mrs Day?" I ask and she glares.

"Well why would my name be different? I didn't marry you" She laughs at me and I feel Maddie tremble in my arms.

"What are you doing here?" I say and she smiles.

"Well I'm not here for a friendly visit, am I?" She laughs again making my whole body shiver in fear.

"Let's go home Luke" I nod and we begin to walk away.

"Don't you think about it" She shouts but we continue to walk. I stop as I hear a gunshot. I see a little tear fall out of Maddie's eye and I become nervous myself, she had a gun.

"Okay, we'll stay" I say and we turn to face her. She had a grin plastered across her face and it made me sick to look at.

"Good, I just want to chat" She smiles and takes us to a picnic bench which I found quite odd.

"Why do you want to speak with us? I've said all I need to say" Maddie says.

"Oh someone's talkative. I thought I taught you to shut up" She says raising her eyebrows and Maddie nods.

"No, Maddie can speak whenever she wants. She has a beautiful voice and does not have to listen to you anymore"

"Oh so Luke still sticks his nose in things I see" She sighs while leaning on the table.

"Only when people need to be told the truth" I say and she glares.

"How are you both?"

"We'd better if my mum didn't come and randomly talk to me" Maddie say and glares.

"I did not teach you to be this mean, get some manners"

"You taught me NOTHING. You made me feel worthless, like I was nothing. I'm so glad Luke saved me from you" Maddie says and I put my arm on her waist.

"Listen, I didn't come here just to chat okay? I came here for one reason"

"Which is?"

"I may look old but I know how to use the Internet, I know you're pregnant" She growls.

"So? This has nothing to do with you" She says and she laughs."

"Well it does. I told you I never wanted you to have children and you're 1 month away" She says and clicks her knuckles making my bones shake.

"You can't do anything to me"

"I don't want to do anything to you Maddie, you're my child"

"You want to hurt my baby?"

"No I don't but what I want is for the best, you couldn't look after yourself for 17 years and now you want to look after a child? No chance"

"So you're looking out for me?" She says confused to her mother.

"You're not getting what I mean, I don't want to kill your child, I want to teach you that you can't do it"

"She's going to be an amazing mum and I'm here being the dad. She will be amazing unlike you" She glares at me and stands up.

"Oh Luke, you also didn't get what I meant"

"No and I don't want to" I say and she smirks.

"I want Maddie to learn how to be a mother and see that she can't do it alone" She cackles and I look at her confused.

She slowly pulls something out of her bag and I gulp. What was she going to do? I tremble in fear as I see it again, the gun. She aims it at Maddie and shoots. No. I dreamt about this and she died in my arms, I wouldn't let this happen again.

I run towards Maddie, my mind empty. Maddie had been shot. I couldn't breath. My insides were burning with every breath I took and then I suddenly stopped.
