Luke's P.O.V-

I wake up and look at the clock. 11am, thank god it was Saturday.

I roll out of bed and shower quickly, I was planning on going to the beach to write so I had to go before people go there.

I get changed and begin to walk, the beach was only 10 minutes away which was useful.

I get to the beach and find a small spot where a girl was sitting with her headphones in.

I walk closer to find it was Maddie and I could hear a slight hum. I sit behind her and listen to her. I begin to hear words so I move closer and I realise she was singing.

"Is it too late, to bring me to you... No, that sucks" She shakes her head and sets her sight on me.

"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to- I'll go" I say and she laughs.

"Stay if you want, you just heard me sing" I look at her surprised, she actually spoke to me. Her voice was so quiet and calm. It was the sweetest sound, I was practically in love with it.

"Uh-"

"Yeah I have a voice" She says and looks at her book again.

"I know that" I sit next to her and she smirks.

"You looked so shocked" She laughs making me embarrassed.

"Hey, you haven't spoke in 17 years, give me a break" I say and she smiles at my response.

"It's weird to speak to someone who isn't related to me" She nudges me, pushing her glasses up.

"I probably am related to you, somewhere down the line"

Wow luke, your flirting is amazing.

"Shut up" She giggles.

"Sorry"

"I've wanted to say that to so many people for so long" She looks to the sky and smirks.

"Like who?" I bite my lip making her giggle.

"Well there's Skylar, Matt, Anna and don't get me started on Michael-'

"Hey, Michael's nice!"

"Yeah but he always talks about me like I'm not there in math and it frustrates me. Like for fu-"

"What? You don't like the word fuck?"

"Not really" she shakes her head.

"I bet you don't swear"

"Shit, you're right" She winks.

"You fooled me" I laugh.

"Good girls are bad girls that don't get caught if they don't speak"

"So what's up with the word fuck?" I ask and she frowns as I say it which makes her glasses fall to the end of her nose.

"I just don't say that one, I don't like that one"

"I understand" It was fun to have a conversation with Maddie, I couldn't believe she was like this. She was so funny and really kind.

I walk her to her street and we make our ways home. I helped her finish the song she was writing that was now called 'The only reason' which I thought sounded insanely good.

I go to my room and text calum and Michael to tell them but oddly, they don't believe me.

'To calum:

It happened! Maddie spoke to me tonight!'

I wait for a reply but nothing. Why didn't anyone believe me? I had a conversation with Maddie.
