Teach me to drive

Luke's P.O.V-

I wake up and smell my mum's cooking. I shot out of bed and ran down the stairs to see my mum singing and cooking.

"Boo" I say and she jumps.

"Shit Luke!" She says trying to get her heart beat back to normal.

"Sorry mum, I see you're cooking" I wink.

"You don't get any now" She jokes and I sit down, beside my dad.

He was currently reading the newspaper so I went on Twitter, to check our fans and answer some tweets. I saw lots of people tweeting us about Maddie and all the confusion between us. I decide to tweet a picture of us together as I knew they'd find out.

I lock my phone as my mum comes over to me. She hands me food and I eat it quite quick as I see Maddie ringing me. I go to my room and answer her call. I already knew it'd be about the tweet.

"Hey mads, what up?"

"Your tweet?"

"Yeah?"

"Why did you say that? People are going to hate me" She sounded so worried.

"But I really like you so I'll help you out. I called you caring!"

"Luke, what if I get death threats?"

"I'm here and I'll take care of you. If I like you, they'll like you because you make me happy"

"You're so adorable, I'm sorry, I'm over reacting"

"No I'm sorry I didn't tell you first"

"It's okay, I'll live"

"Want to do something today? I'm bored here and I want to see you"

"You want to see me after a day when we had a date where we just sung high school musical. You must really like me"

"I really do" I bite my lip at her cuteness. I just wanted to hug her.

"Okay then, I'll go get ready and then I'll pick you up"

"You can drive?"

"Yep I learnt when I left. It's very useful"

"Okay then" She puts he phone down and I get ready. I slide into a plain black shirt with some skinny jeans. I put on a snap-back as my hair was terrible and I knew Maddie liked my hair like this. I walk out and see Maddie's car parked outside. I smile at her and join her in the car.

"You must have made a lot of money away. Look at this car"

"Not really. My granddad has a lot of cars so he gave me one"

"So when you left town you went to your granddad's house?"

"I kinda just ended up there. I don't remember contacting him"

"How did you meet him then?"

"I went back to the small town I grew up in and I bumped into him. I was terrified to meet him but he was so sweet"

"So you stayed with him?"

"Yep. He's so kind. I promised him I'd let him come here when my parents aren't here. He said I can stay over whenever" I could see her tense up as she said the sentence.

"Why when your parents aren't here?"

"It doesn't matter"

"Maddie, listen, I'm here if you want to talk about it. I know you're always avoiding the subjects of parents and I don't know why but I will be here for you"

"We're here" She says and parks the car. She jumps out and walks out so I follow her.

"An abandoned car park?" I laugh.

"Hey, this isn't a date"

"What?"

"Your mum asked me to take you on your first driving lesson"

"You're kidding me right?"

"You don't want to drive?" She looked so scared.

"I've wanted to drive for ages! Oh my god!" I say and hug her.

"Thank gosh! I thought you didn't want to for a second" I could see the relief on her face.

"I want to" I pull her into a side hug and she smirks.

We walk over to the car and I get in the drivers seat which is really weird at first. I see all the pedals below my feet and I suddenly feel like this isn't going to be as easy as playing Mario kart.

"So, start by putting your foot here and then go" She says and I follow every step. I start the car and begin to shake a bit.

"I suck at this! Look how slow I am"

"It's your first time" She smirks and so do I. I begin to speed up and she smiles. I laugh as she grips onto the side.

"Can we slow down a bit? I've always been afraid of cars going this fast" She says breathing a little heavier than before.

"Shit sorry" I slowly stop the car and her breathing goes back to normal pace. We both get out and switch sides.

"So that was quite good for your first time"

"Thanks" I say in the passenger seat. I see her undo her seat belt and climb over, sitting on his lap.

"I love sitting on you, you always get all scared"

"No I don't"

"You do, like I'm going to snap or something" She pouts her lip out and I smirk.

"Well that's not the only reason-"' I stop speaking as she forcefully presses her lips against mine.

"You are just too damn cute" She licks my nose and I quickly rub it off.

"Eww, I don't want your germs"

"Yes you do" She says and goes back into the drivers seat.

"Maybe I do" I say while kissing her gently. She stops and smirks. We drive back to our street and I get out.

"I hope to do this again some time"

"Me too Hemmings" She winks and drives off. God damn, I was falling hard for this girl.
