Come over

Maddie's P.O.V-

I sit on my bed drawing what seemed to be a beach when I hear a glass smash downstairs.

"Mum?" I say worried and run down the stairs. She was horrible to me but she was still my mum.

"What do you want?"

"I thought I heard a glass smash?"

"You did, your dad just feel asleep drinking again. Now go up and get out of the way. Unless you want to clean it up" I sigh and go up stairs. I continue my art when out of my window I see my dad walking. I run over and see my mum begin him in a black hoodie. I run downstairs and see a note of my kitchen table.

Out for the weekend, I want to come home to a clean house and no grandchildren. Nothing serious, just bored of seeing you.

I smile. A free house, I never though it'd happen. I texted Luke to come over, he finally could. I quickly clean up some broken glass and beer bottles. I hear my door getting knocked and I go over. I open it and see Luke staring back at me, I look at him in shock.

"How did you know I lived here?"

"I saw you come out of here yesterday" He smiles and walks in. He looks around and I see him smirk as his eyes set on me.

"We can just go up to my room, it's more fun up there. Warmer as well" I say and he nods.

"You have a beautiful house, I see a radio" He smiles and I get worried, I hadn't used that for years and I didn't even knew if it worked or not.

"I don't know if it works" To my surprises it begins to play my favourite childhood CD.

"Any CDs?"

"I'll go get my good ones" I say and he nods. I run up my stairs and sit on my bed for a minute. I sigh, Luke was here, I'll be alright. I hear my door open and Luke runs in. He sees me and gives me a warm hug. I could feel the tears falling and I had no idea why.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm just so glad you're here" I say and kiss him which he smiles at.

"I'm not going anywhere" He smiles and takes my hand.

"The CDs!" I say and walk over to my CD section. He follows me and helps me carry some. We get downstairs and I look through them, seeing which ones I could play.

"HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" Luke shouts sliding it into the radio. I laugh as 'start of something new' comes on, it was my favourite so I knew all the words.

He dances around with me as we sing. I would sing all the girl bits and he would sing the boy bits. It was so fun to finally sing with someone else.

I stop as I hear the intro to 'breaking free' That song brought back so many memories and my dad dancing with my dad before all of the alcohol. I was so short I had to stand on his feet like in all the typical American films.

"You okay?"

"I just love singing to this one'"I say and he nods.

"So do I" He says and pulls me in by my waist. I smile and bite my lip. He giggles and I jump up, wrapping my legs around his waist and kissing him.

"You- really-kn-know how-to-to kiss" He says in between kisses.

"I know, you're not bad yourself" I say and attach my lips to his again which he enjoys.

"We- need- to- Stop"

"Why?" I say jumping down, sulking.

"Because Mrs, I was excited for our duet to this song" I quickly restart the song and jump in the kitchen counter. We begin the song and as it ends, Luke wraps his arms around me. I always felt warm as he did. I just still couldn't believe that he chose me to be friends with. Someone actually cared about me.
