Nine in the morning

Madi's P.O.V-

I get out of my bed and open the curtains. All I could hear was the sound of my parents yelling even though it was 8am. I begin to go through all my things like clothing and books just to make sure it was all there.

I stop as I come across one book, my old sketch book. I flick through and see all the pictures I drew in maths with Luke watching.

I sit on my cosy bed with my pencil case and begin to draw. I start the draw the outline of a man's body laying on a bed, a girl beside him.

I finish my drawing and add colour making it bright. I look at it for a while and see I had drawn Luke and I on my bed. I end the drawing with signing off with the word 'MADUKE' at the end to symbolize that it was us.

"MADELINE! Get down here now" I hear my mum yell and I go down my staircase.

"Yes mum"

"Why are you back here? It was relaxing without you"

"I came back for my friend"

"Friend? You don't have any friends"

"I made one friend called Luke before I left"

"He was nothing more than a friend was he?" She raises her eyebrows.

"No, of course not! Just a friend" I knew she'd kick off if she knew I had a boyfriend. But was Luke even my boyfriend?

"Good, I don't want grandchildren from you" She spat.

"Mum, I haven't done anything like that"

"Of course you have, you're like me"

"No I'm not"I whisper and slide down the back of my chair. She was so cruel.

"Toast?"

"Yeah, that'd be nice" My eyes open in delight.

"Go make it! I wasn't offering" She shouts and I nod. I knew it was too good to be true.

I finish making her breakfast and run up to my bedroom. I change into my black skinny jeans and a band shirt, adding me black converse as well.

I sneakily climb out of my window and down the road towards Luke's house when I remember it's 9am. I turn to walk away when I hear my name.

"MADDIE! Wait!" I see Luke's brother Ben coming towards me. I smile as he reaches me.

"Hello" I say.

"Hey Maddie, what are you doing out here at 9 in the morning after a concert?" He jokes.

"I thought I'd go for a walk" I smile awkwardly and so does he.

"So did I. Maybe we could walk together?"

"Okay" I replied happily and we walk into town. We get to some shops and split apart. It was the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me as I still wasn't comfortable with talking to anyone other than Luke.

I hide my face as I see the old popular people from my school but I'm too late.

"IS THAT MADDIE?" One shouts and I ignore them, going into a shop. I see them walk in and I get terrified.

"Maddie, is that you?" A girl asks jokingly and they all laugh. I shove my way out and run down the road.

I turn to find them running after me and bump into someone who was walking.

"Shit, I'm sorry" I say as I land on top. I feel the chest underneath me rising up and down with every breath and I sigh, Of course it'd be me. I see Luke looking up on me and he laughs.

"It's okay, I like this angle of you"

"Why thank you, I hope you didn't break anything"

"Just my pride" He jokes and I laugh. I look down at Luke and remember I was still on top of him.

"Shall I get off?" I ask and he studies my face.

"Let me do something first" He puts his two hands on my shoulders and I feel my insides turning to jelly. That's when I close my eyes as his lips touch mine.I put my hands on his jaw line and I feel him smile. He moves his hands to my waist and I giggle.

"We are in public Hemmings, now is not the time"

"Oh yeah" He says and we get up, the popular people from our old school staring back at us.

"Sorry but that was really inappropriate to do in public" Jack, Anna's old boyfriend replies.

"Shut up, we are happy" Luke says putting his arms around me making me go all gooey inside. He walks past them and I feel his hand slip into mine as we walk.

"So your up early"

"I wanted some fresh air, what about you Luke?" I wink.

"God, don't do that. It's so attractive. Anyway, my brother told me you were in town and I though oh! Today's the day she'll fall on me" He jokes.

"But seriously that lip ring is the best thing that's ever happened to you"

"You were the best thing to happen to me" He says and bites his lip. He had to stop with this, I was close to death.

"So what are you doing today?"

"Hopefully spending it with you" He winks and I nod.

"That would be great"

"Come on then!" He says and guides me to his house. I love- liked luke. I wasn't in love, was I?
