Luke's P.O.V-

I take a couple of Maddie's bags and help her out them in the trunk of her car, it was a couple of minutes away from my house but she had so many boxes. We finally finish and drive over I my house. I go in first and go to tell my mum.

"Hey Luke"

"Mum?" I say, my voice going higher at the end.

"What do you want?"

"I have a big favour..."

"Whattttt"

"Maddie's parents suck.... Can she stay here for a while?"

"How long?"

"A couple months maybe?" I clench my teeth together.

"Sure"

"Just like that?"

"I used to know her mum, she was a terrible lady, I hoped that she had changed for Maddie's sake"

"I met her today. She's a bitch"

"What did she do?"

"She called Maddie worthless and shit like that"

"I see why Maddie has self esteem problems then. I don't mind at all Luke, Maddie's a sweet girl and I'd love her to stay" She smiles and comes outside to help with Maddie's bags.

We take them all up to the spare room which was next to mine. It was quite a large room, bigger than the one she had in her old house.

"This is huge Luke!" She says and hugs me. I smile as I know she was finally happy and away from her horrible mother.

"It's yours for as long as you need Maddie, I want you to feel like this is your home. Everything is your now. And you must call me Liz or mamma hemmo"

"Okay, mamma hemmo" I hear her say.

"Okay let's stick to Liz" They hug each other and makes me feel all warm inside. She liked my mum, she really did.

"You honestly don't mind me staying here Liz?"

"Of course not! Trust me, I used to know your mum so I know what it's like to argue with her"

"You were Piggy Lizzy weren't you?"

"Sadly. But don't call me that or you won't be staying here"

"I'm sorry. If it counts, I always felt bad for you when she told me the stories"

"Thanks Maddie"

"What did she do?" I ask and they both turn to me.

"She always made me feel like nothing and embarrass me in front of the entire school"

"That's what I felt like" Maddie say and I see her blink a couple times. I go over and give her a hug as she begins to cry.

"You're okay now, you're with the Hemmings family now" I say and she nods.

"I know and for that I'm going to be extremely grateful forever"

"Let's unpack" I say and she nods as we open up all the boxes. My mum had finally left so we made her feel at home.

"Oh wow! Look!" She holds up a little book and smiles.

"What is it?"

"My old diary. I wrote about everyone I hated" She giggles.

"So a burn book?"I wink.

"You know your mean girls quotes. I thought you only said you watched mean girls to go on a date with me?"

"Course not, mean girls is my favourite film mads. I bet I'm not in there" I smirk.

"You actually are" I see her laugh and I frown.

"Rude"

"Do you want to hear it?"

"Yes, I kind of do" She sits on the bed and I join her.

"Luke Hemmings, the hottest but most irritating person in school. He's so cute but so annoying. All he does is laugh at his own jokes and flirt with every girl in my class. He flirts with EVERY SINGLE GIRL APART FROM ME. I wish he would flirt with me but I'm just too ugly and useless. Ah well, Luke can go fall off a cliff along with the other idiots"

"At least I was hot"

"You still are" She bites her lip.

"Wow, you really didn't like me" I say after re-reading it.

"Who says I do like you?" She says and stares at the window.

"You're kidding, aren't you?" I say softly and she turns to face me.

"Of course I'm kidding. You mean so much to me" She walks over and sits on my knee.

"Good because you mean a lot to me" I kiss her cheek and she giggles.

Finally, we had unpacked all her things and the room looked like hers. She lays flat on the bed and smiles.

"I'm safe. I'm finally safe"

"You really are" I say joining her.

"This is going to be so fun! It'll be like a sleepover that never ends!" I laugh and so does she.

My mum shouts up saying food was ready and we walk down. I got to spend way more time with her which made me so happy.
