Calum, give it to me

Maddie's P.O.V-

I speed up as I see Luke walking towards me and I get to Calum.

"I need to talk to you"

"What about?" He says loudly as the music was blasting.

"It's a secret" I pull him out of the party and into Michael's garden which was full of alcohol. He follows me behind Michael's shed and he sees I have been crying.

"What happened?"

"Luke Hemmings happened. I need your help"

"What did he do?"

"I caught him with another girl. I need to forget, I need... A... Cigarette" I say, my voice a bit shaky.

"What?"

"I need one, please"

"Maddie, I don't think-"

"Calum, give it to me" I say and he reluctantly passes me one. I slip one into my mouth and light it.

At first I cough and Calum looks at me sympathetically. The more I smoke it, the more I cope with it. I sit on the floor and Calum joins me.

"I shouldn't have given you that, Luke will kill me"

"HE CHEATED CALUM! I don't care what he thinks anymore" I calm down as I shouldn't be shouting at Calum as it's not his fault.

"You won't even hear him out? It could be like when I broke up with Anna" He says and I get up.

"The difference is, he kissed her back. I don't care. He hurt me and I'm so done" I put the cigarette out and walk off.

"MADDIE" He calls out and turns me around.

"What Calum? What do you want?"

"Just don't do anything stupid" He sighs and I walk off. I get into Michael's kitchen and pour myself a drink full of all the alcoholic drinks I could find.

I drink a bit and I instantly flinch at the bitter taste. I swallow it as I needed to forget tonight. I needed to forget Luke's stupidity, hopefully I could drink all the memories of Luke all together. I finish the drink and make another, my hand shaking to show I was a little tipsy.

"Maddie? Drinking?" I hear Ashton say and I turn around. He smiles at me, confused.

"I don't really want to"

"Why are you doing it then?" He asks and takes my drink off me.

"Luke. I caught him making out with a girl apparently called Steph. I want to forget, I need to forget" I say and take it back. He sighs and pulls me into a hug.

"Aww Maddie I'm so sorry"

"If someone says that to me one more time I'm going to slap them. It's not like you made him kiss her"

"I know I just feel bad for you"

"I know, I'm sorry I was harsh on you"

"It's okay, you're hurting" He says and I release a few tears.

"Ashton, how could he? I trusted him, I really trusted he wouldn't do this"

"I'm so- I wish you weren't hurting because of him"

"Luke's a dick" I say and he giggles. He hands me a glass of water and I sigh.

"I just want to get wasted. Was that hipster enough for you?"

"A little. I don't like you being a hipster"

"No me either. Give me some alcohol so I can forget everything about this night" I sigh and he shakes his head.

"That's not going to help mads"

"IT'LL HELP ME NOW LEAVE IF YOU WONT HELP ME" I shout and he sighs.

"Don't be stupid Maddie, you can work through this" He says and leaves. I sit alone and drink. I drink as much alcohol I can until I can't consume anymore or I'll throw up. I sit on the ground, taking out another cigarette Calum had given me.

I walk into Michael's garden and sit on the bench. I light the cigarette and see Michael approach.

"Maddie! What the fuck are you doing?"

"Having a smoke. You?"

"Are you drunk?"

"Nah, I 'ave only had 7 cups of dat see through shit" I say and point to the bottle.

"Vodka? Fuck"

"It tastes like sugaaaa and rainbows. I like dat rainbow" I say pointing to Michael's hair.

"You're completely wasted. Shit" He said under his breath. I take the cigarette out of my mouth. I really didn't like it, my lungs felt like they were closing in.

How did life get so bad?
