Eden PoV

The Void was such a mysterious place that I'd quickly learnt to prepare for almost anything. Almost being the key word, because what I wasn't prepared for was Blake and Jace's sudden appearance here right before my eyes.

I'd barely registered that when Blake charged towards us at full speed like a wild animal. My heart pounded so hard I swear I could hear it over the angry growl that escaped Blake's lips.

He hurled himself at my companion and they fell to the ground in a tussle of limbs and my mate wasted no time before he laid multiple punches to Romans face and stomach.

"What the fuck? Blake get off him right now" I cried out in a vain attempt at breaking up the fight. Roman was giving just as good as he got and had landed several hard blows to Blake's beautiful face and chest.

"Jace do something" My other mate had stood back and seemed completely confused and in deep thought.

Once I addressed him directly he stared at me and blinked a few times like he was finally realising it was actually me in front of him and not some sort of image the Void that showed him.

"Calm the fuck down Blake!" Jace growled as he practically lifted Blake from the fight still kicking out and cursing at Roman. "Are we good?" He asked Blake once he'd given him a few whispered words I couldn't make out from here.

"We're good" Blake breathed out and narrowed his eyes on Roman as he wiped blood from his busted lip. "But you touch her again and I swear I'll rip your heart out" the calmness in Blake's voice was such a far cry from the chilling message he sent.

I shivered , never had I seen him as more of a monster. Yet he had never seemed so gorgeous either.

"It's lovely to see you again too little brother" Roman chuckled lightheartedly like he was totally unfazed by Blake's threat.

But did he just say what I think he said?

Little brother.

Wtf??

"Roman is your big brother?" I asked as I checked Blake over. I knew full well he'd heal but I still hated the sight of any injury on either of my mates and even if I was still annoyed by Blake's behaviour I still loved him and his jealous outburst made more sense now I knew the family link.

"You didn't know that?" Blake seemed surprised by my question and I just shook my head in response. "It's complicated. He works for our father. Our fathers I guess"

"Roman was the one that always looked after us and tried to protect us when we were kids" my words came out rushed like I was trying to make sure that he knew there was nothing between us romantically.

"That's makes sense" Jace replied as he stepped closer to me and his cinnamon and woodsy scent invaded my nostrils and warned me from the inside out.

I then remembered the last communication we'd had was my video message just before I'd arranged for them to be rendered unconscious.

Guilt and fear hit me so hard I felt nauseous.

My mates had every right to be furious at me and yet I couldn't hear the idea of them being so angry and disappointed in me. My emotions just have been evident because they both wrapped their arms around me and Jace lifted my chin up so I was looking in his eyes.

"Our lives have become so complicated haven't they? But what you chose to do for the twins... you were right. If I saw them, just for a second I don't think I could give them up. Not even for a day or two until I knew for certain it was safe" Jace assured me and kissed my lips softly.
