Meet the family

Eden PoV

For the next two days Freya and Iris taught me everything I needed to know about how to care for babies. I learnt how to prepare bottles, feed, burp and change dirty diapers. I learnt how to soothe the twins when they were upset as well as identify which type of cry required what action from me.

Were they hungry?

Did they need a diaper change?

Did they have trapped wind?

Or did they just need cuddles with mummy?

For two tiny little bundles of joy they sure required a lot of things. But it was all completely worth it. Even when I was covered in baby sick !

It was crazy how much information I picked up from these two amazing women that wasn't in any of the baby books I'd read.

For those two whole days it had just been the three of us with the twins. It was a crash course in baby care but also a time where I'd bonded deeply with my little boys.

Nobody else had laid eyes on the twins. I wanted to get to know my babies more before I introduced them to the rest of the family.

But it was Jace's role as Alpha to introduce them to the pack. It was a long time tradition that the alpha would gather his pack, show them his child or children and together they would celebrate the birth of a new generation of alphas.

Regardless of what ever happened between us, I would never take that moment away from him. He hadn't abandoned his pack, he had stayed back to assist with the aftermath of the battle at Woodmoor.

Or at least that's what I'd had Logan inform the pack.

I knew Jace would return to his role and his pack, nothing between him and I would alter his love for his pack and his job as their alpha and there was no way I'd allow even a hint of doubt to trickle into their minds if they knew the truth.

However, one day I would explain my actions to them and I would apologise for creating the current distance between them and their alpha.

I barely had time to get my little guys dressed before there was a knock on the nursery door.

"Come in" I answered and gazed down at my sons in their cribs. Their precious purple eyes glimmered back at me.

Cole, Sawyer, Logan Sky and Harry filed into the room. Sky looked like she wanted to burst into tears and I wasn't sure if they were happy tears or not. Her face was hard to read.

I assumed my brothers had spent lots of time with the twins but they didn't act like it.

"Oh my goddess" Logan uttered under his breath as he took in the joy with wide eyes. "What perfect little chaps" he added with a smile that showed the pride he felt.

"Eden. No way. They are really here. Two tiny little pups. They are so cute!" Harry gasped in surprise. It had felt like it had taken years to get to that moment so I understood his take on things.

" Ede, they are so freakin' adorable. They look like mini Jace and Blake's but put together. If that makes sense" Skylar finally spoke and o noticed how her hand subtly slid down to her belly.

I grinned at her and she winked in confirmation. I couldn't have been happier for her and Jamie.

They'd be great parents!

My brothers had stayed eerily silent and once they sensed it, Logan, Sky and Harry left us to it.

"You two haven't said a word" I pointed out. I was concerned by their odd behaviour. "I know you both met them when Zara and Freya were caring for them. I know you took them with Caleb but I wanted you to meet them properly. Now they are home and with me. Your my family" this entire situation was odd and I didn't understand their behaviour or reactions.
