The sun was shining brightly high up in the sky. The birds were singing and everything seemed serene. There was no sense of the impending doom or disaster that was coming our way.

The pack were going about their business. Working, spending time with their loved ones and making the most of the precious peace that was upon us.

Daisy, Natalia and I had been making the most of the lovely weather and strolling through the forest grounds of the territory getting to know each other better.

Natalia has been finding things particularly difficult since she'd arrived but without Sadie beside her she'd tried to return into her shell again but Daisy and I were determined to prevent that happening.

We took a seat under a large oak tree that offered us shelter from the unusually hot weather laying out a navy blanket to protect our butts from twigs and leaves.

We might be wolves and vampires but we weren't complete savages.

Alex stepped outside from behind a tree and handed us a picnic basket full of tasty treats having insisted on shadowing us alongside his brothers.

I was just grateful that Blake and Jace were busy training the warriors because I'd bet money on them preventing us from leaving the pack house if they had the opportunity.

"So have you recovered from the aftermath of your mating ceremony? Your mates looked very pissed when they headed upstairs" Daisy questioned in between taking large bites out of a cheese sandwich.

She reminded me so much of Blake when she ate. They both devoured food so fast they barely swallowed or stopped to savour the flavours.

Maybe it was because it wasn't blood?!

"Lets just say your brothers made it clear how they felt" I didn't want to elaborate, as much as I wanted to be friends I wasn't going to discuss my sex life when it concerned their own brothers.

"Yeh Blake doesn't like anyone getting one over him and you played them both very well" Daisy smiled looking pretty pleased that I'd got one over on him which gave me the impression it didn't happen often.

That made me feel quite smug.

"Funny enough he made that perfectly clear. How are you finding things being back with your brothers Nat?"

"Umm honestly? I am really loving being here. There is something different now. I don't feel like anyone is judging me or questioning my loyalties. Jace seems more open too, the vampire thing really threw him for a while" Natalia stopped nibbling one a carrot stick and pondered her new situation in a positive tone. She was telling the truth, her eyes lit up as she spoke about the acceptance she now felt.

I was so relieved that she felt more welcome here. I knew how much Jace had missed her, I saw it the moment he laid eyes on her.

"Jace loves having you here. If I let you in on a big secret it might ease your worries even more"

"Oh yes tell me now" Natalia bounced on the spot waving the carrot in her hand around excitedly. She was too adorable.

"Blake fed me his blood when he first found me as you knew. But Jace was finding our blood bond a problem. He was already jealousy and felt like me and him had a lesser bond so when we claimed each other we all drunk from each other. So now they are blood bound just like I am to them. That's why they suddenly find it easier to get on. They just haven't realised it. It's quite funny really but I don't want to mention it and ruin it!" There was no stopping the laughter that slipped from my lips.
