Skylar, Harry and I sat in my bed talking for ages just trying to avoid the BBQ which we can hear is in full swing downstairs. Music is playing and the chatter of people is muffled under the songs. The smell of burgers and hotdogs fills the air making my stomach growl.

Every so often Harry exchanges a look of concern at me and I can't wait out whether it's because of Jace being in here earlier or that his mate is outside and he is freaking out.

But as Sky doesn't know I daren't mention it in front of her. I feel like I'm trying to mindlink him but he has shut me out for some reason which is frustrating to say the least.

"Right I can't bear it any longer I'm going down there to see if I can find my mate" Skylar suddenly jumps to her feet with her hands in her hips looking all determined and riled up.

"Good luck" Harry and I giggle in unison watching as she struts her stuff out of my room and out on her man hunting mission.

"So I know why I'm avoiding the BBQ but what's your deal? Harry narrows his eyes at me as if he is trying to figure something out.

"What'd you mean?" I tried to sound innocent

"Eden Quinn we've been best friends since we could barely walk. I know you and I know when there's something going on. Talk....now!" My best friend was so right, he knew me so well- too well sometimes and maybe he'd make sense of what on earth had happened to me.

"It's umm... that guy from before" I chewed the inside of my cheek barely able to breathe let alone explain what went on between us.

"Alpha Jace you mean?"

"Uhhhuh" nodding at him I stared at the blanket that laid over my bed and began to pick at a loose thread to distract myself.

"Did he upset you?"

"No well not exactly"

"Okay Ede I'm gonna need abit more than that. I didn't even realise you knew him if I'm honest and then he is in your room. You are getting out of the shower.. naked..... oh my goddess!!!!! " the look on his face was actually kind of amusing because his mouth dropped wide open and his eyes were so big as the realisation hit him

"I don't know him that's the problem. I didn't even know his name until Skylar said it. We met at the cafe and talked abit but he was an arsehole most of the time. This morning he totally flipped his lid when I mentioned you then your mum said I was tired because me and you stayed up all night" I tried to avoid the feelings that Jace's jealousy stirred within me as I explained things to Harry

"He was jealous of me? Wow that's crazy" Harry seemed surprised

"He's crazy" I countered frustratedly

"Oh fuck what if he wants to kill me? Murder me in my sleep?" Okay Harry  my friend way to over react and make it all about you!

"Stop it. He knows we are like siblings. He won't hurt you. I just wish I could say the same thing about Blake. I'm worried" Jaces words were a threat and I had a feeling he would have no issue following through on it. I saw the determined, angry look in his eyes.

"So Jace... is he your mate?" Those words came out very cautiously like they were loaded with a million different complicated things attached to them.

That was because they did. So many complications I didn't know where to start.

" can we talk about your love life instead please? Are you going to speak to Devon tonight?" Quickly I changed the subject and noted the rosy glow that lit up on his cheeks at the mention of a certain doctor.
