Chapter 4:13.2

"Ang aga mo naman ata ngayon Alyssa?" puna ni Rachel sakin na papalabas na ng bahay. I smiled at her. Ako kasi ang magsusundo sakanya ngayon dahil hindi sya masusundo ni Peter dahil sa practice nila for the upcoming tournament nila.

"Well good morning to you, too Queen. Palagi naman akong maaga. Ano pa ba ang bago dun?" tanong ko sakanya.

"Wala ka bang practice ngayon?"

"About that, nagpaalam na ako kahapon kila Coach na hindi na ako sasali sa team." Napakunot naman ang noo nya sa sinabi ko.

"Are you out of your mind?" hindi nya makapaniwalang turan.

"Dont worry I am not." natatawa kong sagot sakanya.

"But why did you do that?"

"Am I not allowed to do that?"

"No, I mean sports is in your blood. It is your passion and the love of your life, Alyssa."

"It does. Same with me, you know for yourself that sports is your passion but you let it go too, right?"

"But I have my reason, Alyssa and you know that. SO why? Why did you do that? Nung una, hindi kita pinigilan na umalis sa volleyball, pero ngayon. Tell me why?"

"Queen relax, okay? I know you are upset.."

"Upset? I am more anxious of what you have told me. It is you quiting the sport that we are talking about here Alyssa."

"I'm sorry if you are upset or anxious Rachel. But it doesnt mean na iyon na lang ang aatupagin ko. I already have my shots since the first time I enter ADLSU and I think it is time for me to step down and let others spread their wings, too. And besides, there is more to be taken care of and I become oblivious about it for a very long time. I want to take care of you for myself, too"

"Y-You dont need to Alyssa."

"I need to. Kailangan kasi ang dami ko ng utang sayo. Gusto ko lang bumawi sayo. Gusto kong bumawi sa mga panahong wala ako sa tabi mo." I saw crystal gem of tears starts forming in her eyes pero agad syang nag iwas ng tingin.

"You dont need to Alyssa. Wala kang dapat gawin para bumawi. I understand why you need to distance yourself. You were hurt that time. I hurt you that's why I understand why you need to distance yourself away from them... away from me... And I completely understand why Alyssa." sabi nya at marahang hinawakan ang pisngi ko. She then smiled.

"Dont be too hard on yourself, Alyssa. I dont want to see you having regrets because of what happened." I leaned in her touch at agad na hinawakan ang kamay nya na nasa pisngi ko.

"I will not have ay regrets if you let me take care of you Rach." Mataman ko syang tinitigan at ilang sandali lang ay tumango ito

"Is that really what you want?" She asked.

"Yes. It is what I really want. So please let me." I truthfully answered her. She nod understandingly after that.

"Okay, I will let you. but you need to promise me Alyssa. You need to promise that whatever happens dont let your heart suffer because of me." Napakunot naman ang noo ko sa sinabi nya.

"What I mean is... dont let this, dont let my situation stop your heart getting what it wants. I dont want to be in the way to your happiness to be with Denisse. You need to promise me Alyssa, that you will tell her how much you love her."

"Pero..."

"No. Listen to me Ly. I wanted you to be happy, too. And you can only do that if you start giving yourself a chance.... your heart a chance again to love again. And I'd be happy seeing you happy again Alyssa even before I die"
