ALYSSA'S POV

*RINGG*RINGG*RIINGG*

I looked at my phone and I saw that Jia was calling. Kaya agad ko itong sinagot.

"Jia?"

("Ate Ly, Are you still in the office?")

"Yes, I'm still at the office. Kakatapos lang ng mga meetings ko. Why? May nangyari ba kay Ella?" I asked anxiously. It's been two weeks, kung saan bigla nalang tumawag sakin sina Marge at Jia habang nasa kalagitnaan ako ng meeting with our investors sa Canada, telling me na nasa hospital si Ella and she was having a heart attack. It made our world turned upside down, kaya dali-dali kong tinapos ang meeting at agad akong nagbook ng flight pabalik ng Manila para agad na mapuntahan ito.

We were worried for her lalo na nung sabihin ni Dr. Sanchez, her one of the attending doctors that it was a close call. If it weren't for Marge and Jia coming to her office on time, it will be all over. And since that day ay hindi na kami mapirmi na walang magbabantay sakanya especially when Dr. Sanchez give us a warning of her condition. It is now critical and any time, maaari syang mawala samin. At yun ang ikinakatakot namin. Hanggang sa nagkasundo kami na dapat may isa sa amin ang magbabantay or kahit samahan man lang sya, to avoid such encounter again.

("No, Ate Ly, Ate Ella is fine... She's at the garden right now. I was just checking at you and at the same time to remind you about the dinner later.") A sigh of relief came out of my mouth when I heard that. Oo nga pala, may schedule kami na dinner ngayon, a simple celebration for Ella's birthday.

"Ahh, yeah. I didn't forgot about that. Actually papaalis na rin talaga ako. I will just bought wine for us bago ako didiretso dyan sa restaurant."

("Okay Ate. Just dont be late. And drive safely.")

"Yeah,thanks Ji. See you." I said and hungs up. Agad kong inayos ang mga papeles at itinago ito sa may cabinet ko. Tumayo na ako at kinuha ang coat ko tsaka lumabas ng office ko. I just went to my secretary to let her know I will be out early and cancel some of my appointments tsaka ako bumaba sa may parkinglot. Bago pa man ako makarating sa kotse ko ay biglang tumunog ang phone ko. It was Jovelyn who was calling.

"Hey Jov, what's up?" I asked her

("Are you there yet?") I furrowed my head when I hear her voice.

"Are you okay? You sound not good." I said to her. There's a moment of silence before she speaks again.

("Y-Yeah. I'm okay. Just something happened.")

"What do you mean something happened?" nag-aalala kong tanong sakanya.

("Rachel happened.") My brows furrowed. Then, it dawned me... Maybe they already have a talk. My face softened. And worry was visible in my face.

"Are you okay?" I sympathetically asked her instead. I heard her sighed.
